Chris Heighington should take over the Wests Tigers Captiaincy….

Neither Farah or Marshall are up to it!!!!

When we got the 1st penalty in front early in the game....Farah looked straight at the bench...I mean the game wasn't that old....fair enough take the 2 early but why the need to look for instructions...

Then the 2nd penalty same thing....Arm and leg signals going everywhere....I'm surprised after the comittee meeting they didn't try smoke signals Indian style for instructions....

Then it was Benji's turn late in the half with another penalty ...with the Roosters retreting lazily there was a chance for 1 of his trade mark quick taps,,,it looked like he thought about it,,,then na kick for touch....nah don't think I'll kick it out...Oh stuff it ...just tap it and give it to Keith....

Chris Heighington ,,,,,Wests Tigers need you...

GIVE HEIGHNO the CAPTAINCY!!!!!!!!

The idea has merit, however I don't think there is a major issue with double checking with the coach before taking two points? It is habitual to double check that sort of thing with the coach - better than getting a dressing down at half time in the event the coach did not agree with the decision.

He has been more of an on field leader this season than our current options that is for sure

Agree. He is one player leading by example at the moment. Not a bad idea Geo, I reckon Farah would be reduced to tears if he lost the captaincy though.

it might make him realise that we need more leadership of the field though.

There's a lack of direction on field. Perhaps by giving Rhino the captaincy that may encourage him to play his career out at the Tigers as well? I know the CC Bears earmarked him for their first captain, but surely this may sway him by entrusting him with such responsibility?

It's a double edged sword though; you risk disenchanting Farah by doing so and he's made it quite clear once before that he was ready to walk. I would like to see Farah finish his career with the Tigers.

If he wanted to have a sook about not being captain rather than fighting harder to earn it back it would prove he is not a leader IMO.

Than again Farah at hooker is a much better leader than Farah across every play making position as in the last 3 weeks

Well with all due respect willow and CB….Farah can suck it UP..

Look at what's happened to Parra since Hindmarsh took over...In the competitive world of NRL every little edge helps...

Besides just like Sheens in 06 07 08 and 09 our leaders when it came to the crunch in the crunch games those years fell short as well....

Now I'm sure Sheens shouldn't play favourites either...

GIVE HEIGHNO the CAPTAINCY!!!!!

Yeh good call heigno's been going great guns, but coul you imagine the stink Farah would crack. You seen how he reacted when Sheens started him off the bench last year rnd 1.

ummmmm, no! Heighington isnt a captain. He can be an on field leader like a lot of players for different teams. But hes not a captain. Lockyer, Smith and Heighington at a luncheon with advertisors and other VIP's. Pick the odd one out.

Well I would want to hope thats not the case. Sentiment aside, he needs to lift his game and maybe that would be the best way for him to get back to peak form by giving him something to fight for.

On the other hand, you could argue he has been a terrific clubman also and has just about carried the team to the finals alone on his consistency in the last two or three seasons. He's busted his arse for the club on the field when no one else could or was up to it. It would be nice not to see the daggers out for him so quickly.

And I think your last sentence sums it up. Leave him in at #9 to bounce back, putting him in at #7 when he's been less than spectacular there before (not to mention while he's in a form slump,) can't be doing his leadership any favours.

Whilst I applaud Chris Heigninton's work ethic , guts ,passion and direction in attack, I think Todd Payten would be a better captain in my humble opinion. He is a leader on the field , a real ball playing forward ( he thinks he is a halfback !! ) and most importantly a better communicator than Chris. Heigno , would though , make a fine deputy for Toddy !!!!

Geo - Some inflamitory threads today.

One might deduce that you have reached the end of your tether.

For me I'd Stick with Robert Farah.

I seriously doubt Rhino or anyone else would not have looked to the bench in the same situation. I don't see his as being captain - I think he tries his guts out but I think Farah is still the better option.

(C)'s only talk to the refs, and media…thats about it.
Heighno might tell Badgey hes doin a awful and/or awesome job
Non issue

Who makes the on field decisions then….like kick for goal from a penalty...quick tap etc...A comittee...

Should Farah be our captain definatly not I would prefer either Rhino/Payten /Ellis as for the reasons I'm not getting into arguments we all watch the games and see the persona that's my view I have never believed with a contract comes captaincy .

When Farah signed his long term contract one of the things included in it was the he'd be captain.

However, I do think Heighno would fit the mould perfectly. To me, a captain is someone who will stick up for his players to the nth degree and lead by example.
