Heighno should take over the Captaincy....

I think im in the minority and I think Farah is the best candidate. The guy loves the club, is talented, has carried the team in 2006, 2007, 2008 and been the only one keeping us in the hunt each season. He doesn't loose his cool when talking to the refs (well, as best as can be expected with the crap we cop sometimes), and has enough confidence to stick it to team mates if needed. This season his form is a bit down but I wouldn't kick him when he is down.

In saying that Heighno has been great this year and I'd consider making him a forward leader with gareth ellis. He does seem to show the passion and pride in the club that a lot of our players seem to lack.

Neither Farah or Marshall are up to it!!!!

When we got the 1st penalty in front early in the game....Farah looked straight at the bench...I mean the game wasn't that old....fair enough take the 2 early but why the need to look for instructions...

Then the 2nd penalty same thing....Arm and leg signals going everywhere....I'm surprised after the comittee meeting they didn't try smoke signals Indian style for instructions....

Then it was Benji's turn late in the half with another penalty ...with the Roosters retreting lazily there was a chance for 1 of his trade mark quick taps,,,it looked like he thought about it,,,then na kick for touch....nah don't think I'll kick it out...Oh stuff it ...just tap it and give it to Keith....

Chris Heighington ,,,,,Wests Tigers need you...

GIVE HEIGHNO the CAPTAINCY!!!!!!!!

Sorry mate, i disagree, Heghno has only just cemented his spot in the 17\. And i believe taking the captaincy away from a dominant player like Farah would only cause disharmony.

I do think that Heighno would make a better captain then Robbie as he always gives his all for the team and gives 100% effort. However its obviously to late now as its already part of Robbies contract and theres no point stripping him of it now. Unless we decided to go with co-captains although im not a fan of it.

Well…Sirro in your opinion he has just cemented his spot in the Team....in mine that happened in 2005....

Remember Ben T'eo and the way Heigno ripped into him for playing SOFT....

Can you see Farah doing that ...if the need arises...

Besides have you watched the last 3 weeks...what makes ya think all is harmonous....

GIVE HEIGHNO the CAPTAINCY!!!!!!+

Geez Geo, did the game yesterday do your head in mate? Obviously you're entitled to your opinion but you seem to be more aggressive than usual. It seems like we're all resounded to the fact Sheens isn't going anywhere, so the next obvious place to look is the skipper. Heaping s**t on our captain (especially while he is out of form,) instead who has held the team together for the last three years and could have left anytime he liked to chase the dollar might I add, isn't going to achieve the same desired result as having a stable #7, playing the right players in the right positions and choosing the best team to play on the day.

I don't put the current attitude of the team down to the captain, there's way more to it and sacking Farah as captain won't make it all go away. For the interim this is a trivial issue. Once everything else is fixed, and we still continue to lose, then we should be looking at the captaincy.

I still think he is the best man for the job at this point in time. He's pulled us off the scrapheap many a time before, he will do it again.

Agree CB

Theres enough instability at the moment as there is…we dont need any more, and sacking the (C) will only cause this

Ok CB…your right it's not me....but Hey call it the Bye week.....give me a week and I'll back to normal...

I don't think Ive heaped shit on Farah anymore than some heap shit on Sheens, Fitzy, the medical staff the assistant coaches....

I haven't called anyone dumb or an idiot for having a different opinion to mine.....

Out of curiocity what do you put the current attitude of the team down to....there is Sheens and the leading playing group...

Or is it a case of but luck with injuries, poor form and bad calls and everything will come good once we crack it for a win....

It's frustrating....

But you right...I'll back off....Robbie Farah is to good a player not to turn it all around...

To be honest I don't think you can pin it down to just one issue, its not that clear cut.

It could be a multitude of things;

- Dodgy team selections
- Struggling attack
- Improper use of the bench
- Grinding defence
- Handling errors
- Ad lib footy when the game is on the line
- Reliance on Farah's good form
- Lack of faith in the coaching staff from the playing group
- Lack of faith in the leading playing group

The last two are hypotheticals. It could be many of those Geo, but then again it might not be. We're all frustrated and hanging for a win but there's enough speculation aimed at the playing group without attacking its on field leadership. You're well within your right (as is anyone,) to question it after a few losses, but I think calling for a head is a little premature.

I noticed you referred to injuries and bad calls, I couldn't list those as they are part and parcel of the game. You can't demand 100% of the calls go your way and you can't expect your team to go without a run of injuries. It's the way the team and the coaching staff adapt that determines the attitude, not the injuries themselves. If the whole team dropped their heads just cause one player gets injured I reckon that shows a piss weak attitude and the whole side ought to grow a spine and step up. Rhino has been fantastic, but I reckon he would benefit better as just being a part of the senior playing group. He's playing to well to burden him.

Ah see that's all that was it took a well sructured and much needed reality check…thanks CB...

Now fire up Robbie and smash them Rabbithoes into july....

You're welcome mate… Don't confuse me for being complacent, I just don't like diving off the deep end when there's still plenty to salvage.

Robbie will come good, and will hopefully steer us to that coveted finals berth we crave. :supporter:

Yeah- dumping Farah as captain & inserting Heighington as skipper should solve all the problems.

Honestly- Heighington doesn't need a black band on his arm to designate him as an 'on field leader'- he takes that responsibility as it stands. What difference would it make to have him chat to the ref & attend formal lunches?

Farah's captaincy isn't the problem.

Get a halfback in, get some direction on the field, and let Farah play hooker. Let Heighington do what he does- play hard and inspire his team through his deeds- you know, the stuff he already does.

If you really want a second option for Captain- Todd Payten isn't a bad option- but me personally- I'd take Liam Fulton.

Don't get me wrong. I love Robbie but I feel the Tigers need a different captain.

We need a captain who you can never question the effort of. Robbie almost always puts in but then sometimes his hand wavers. Rhino never wavers. Heighington is always putting in above and beyond the call of duty.

The players need a captain that they know is always trying. Farah is almost always trying but being a creative player his role is complicated, often when he pushes his hand he forces telling mistakes. Heighno has a simple game, so long as the effort is there, he looks good.

If a Farah play directly leads to an opposition try (which happens a lot) it would be difficult for him to tear strips off the boys for their commitment behind the posts. Heighington RUNS AT YOU all day long. He wouldn't fear getting into the fellas and they would feel it more coming from him.

Of course this is all my opinion and being late my vocab is a little verbose, so sorry for that, but I'm sure you get the vibe.

I just want to re-iterate it's not a Farah smear campaign. In fact I think it would rejuvenate his game. Without the pressure of captaincy he could relax and his own game would benefit. Whereas I think Heighington would just get even better with the captaincy.

Burn away if you like.

Farah is the best option for captain. The second best option would be Benji Marshall.

Thanks for just brushing off my entire post without addressing my points Alien.

Farah needs to concentrate on his game, not the woes of the team. Heighington would thrive with the captaincy.

What's the problem with having co-captains like at Manly. Kingy is the on-field captain and Lyon the off-field captain. Have Rhino on-field and Farah off-field.

Heightington or ellis are the ideal players by form this year but cant just sack farah he hasnt been in to bad of form this year…
