Here's Your Chance Campbelltown

I travelled today and am a balmain fan. I like campbo. What is the problem with the area though? Why arent people turning up? I am not meaning to be insulting, but this is a big concern.

Every single element was in place to get a bumper crowd (with thursten v marshall and both sides in good form, sunday footy, sunny day, train line working!). How can GWS get 11k yesterday when they are a new club, with a crap team playing a crap sport and we only get 2k more. Are wests fans really disappointed with the club?

100% that leichhardt would have been packed. I am not saying leichhardt is better, but i wonder what is wrong with the connection between our club and fans out west. We are at risk of losing a generation of young kids out there to other sports. What can be done?

Waterside…you hit the nail on the head...Sunny Sunday afternoon, two teams in form, superstars on both sides, yet the crowd just didn't turn up!!..Are Western Sydney saying they don't want the tigers?...if that game were at Leichhardt they would've have 18,000 there!

I dont want this to be balmain v wests. Like i said, i like campbo. But it is a concern that fans arent turning up and i dont really know why there wasnt more people at the game.

Maybe the fans in the southwest aren't as flush as those in the inner west …. It's not cheap to go to the footy these days ... Especially if you have a couple of kids to take.

Its a two way street mate, WT's are hardly embracing the area themselves. Takes two to tango but I agree disappointing crowd

Here we go another Wests v Balmain thread. And for once this one can't be blamed on 'whinging old Magpie' fans. Get over it and enjoy the win

Sure, but they only play four games at leichhardt as well. Are fans actually switching clubs or sports because tigers arent playing enough out there? That seems unlikely to me. Given there are only four games there, surely that would lead to more people turning up not less. Cost of a ticket is a big problem imo.

It was a troll post, aladinsane has nothing to say about the game, one post afterwards making sure we all know where he's from, just to have a crack at cambo…good work mate keep the division going...12 years for christs sake

I don't think the post was made to divide us . The fact is a quality game like this deserved a larger crowd, although I hear the atmosphere at C town today was great. The question I pose is would the crowd been larger at SFS or Dairyfarmers.NRL is a business you need bums on seat.

This is not wests v balmain, it is simply a discussion about why we didnt get a good crowd today. No one is saying we should stop playing at campbo or that the ground is bad. I like campbo but i was disappointed with the crowd today and I wonder what is going on.

I just dont get it, 3pm Sunday arvo kick off, weather perfect for pies, beers and football, playing a really good side, the teams on a role and only a break even crowd. The place should have been packed to the rafters.

The Ceo and his team need to find out why they cant pack the place and what is turning the crowds away. Their must be reasons, is it cost or is it just the club has no presence in the area. What ever it is they need to fix it. Get out and ask the people of South Western Sydney why they are no attending the games. I think 12000 of the 13000 crowd were on the express way heading back to the inner city after the game!!!!.

It should be a fortress

I guess the crowd could of been a bit more higher but I reckon despite the number we were loud through the whole game, the crowd from my point of view were really into it from start to finish except of course when the Cowboys scored besides that an excited crowd

The ticket prices are obscene. I'm a season ticket holder but took my parents along aswell today. I can not believe that the ga tickets are $30 each, that is terrible.

Not cheap mate …. Ask a single income family renting in the region.
I agree the club should do a bit more research on its fans in it's south west heartland.

Only Out by 59 ….Official crowd ...13,059 .....
Just got back to Concord , and I wonder where the citizens of City of Campbeltown were today .The team deserves better support than that

Maybe it was the fans that have to travel some distance that didnt turn up.

Take your Balmain Wests crap elsewhere

Did you make the trek from Dundas Ink , to add to your collection of ticket stubs .
It's not a Balmain/ Wests thing with me , as I have stated many times on
Here that we should have one Purpose built stadium , one true graveyard where other teams fear to go & also one combined Wests Tigers State Cup team , as this would benefit the team.
The population of Campbeltown alone is 150,000 and on a nice Sunday afternoon with your team winning 4 on the trot against another entertaining team but sorry 13,000 attendance is just not good enough .
If the game was at Leichhardt , SFS or wherever on a sunny Sunday and that crowd was posted I would have have has a whine about it as well .
On the radio coming home they said it was disappointing as well & they expected 18,000 there today

I would be interested in someone having a look and see when the last time we played sunday arvo at Campbelltown and played a Sydney based team?

If my parents had not have travelled down with me today, I think they would have turned around and went home when they saw the ticket prices. Luckily dad let me put $5 on moltz as 1st try scorer for him. Made his money back.

I dont live at Dundas anymore, and no…I didnt go today. Go for your life.

Im just curious as to how you know where every one of those fans were from....maybe the majority were from the area, and very few travelled....though supercoach reliably informs us 12000 passed him on the motorway

Maybe theres a core of 12/15000 that attend each ground and the rest is made up of WTs fans from out of the area......

That said it was disappointing and the club should be looking at why, but I fear they'll just use it to justify more Moore Pk.

Personally when I renewed my membership last year with the 4 game SFS pack I decided then thatd be enough for me, despite heading to the Foundation Cup & Rd 1…with a mortgage now I cant afford to go all the time....just too expensive on my budget.

Something about footy after Origins too historically the crowds are often poor.....and this weekend across the board is no exception.

Friday 25 May

Sunday 27 May
