Hindsight - Take the 2 points

The penalty in front of the posts with about 7 to go before half time. Take the 2 we win …

Some of the smartest coaches in the league say take the 2 every time it is on offer. I thought we should have,. :deadhorse:

We were 12 behind? What point is taking the game to 12-2? Benji should have just not missed that goal and Farah shouldn't have missed a sitter from right in front.

Didn't we actually score from that penalty though?

nice one genius, then if we took the kick and lost by 4 you'd be the type of poster to say "'we should have gone for the try, how stupid to go for 2 when we are behind by 12!"

my vote for stupidest post of the year!

No no no

Take the two and the game changes completely.

You CAN NOT make assumptions like that. Robbie took the beat option at the time.
End of story

spot on, who knows what would have happened? Maybe they score twice in 5 mins before half time. I stand by my first post. Stupidest post of the year

My vote for biggest dickhead is you. Read the post, I said in hindsight and I also said what the commentators said was about taking the 2\. It was an easy 2 in what was going to always be a close match.

If it was 12 all or 12- 10 then take the 2 , but at 12 -6 i would have taken the tap and do what they did and that is make the bulldogs fowards tackle , it will help them at the back end of the game

I agree with the OP. At 12 - 6 with only 6 minutes before the break, we should've definitely gone for the 2 to bring it within a converted try range. We weren't getting through them that easily at that stage and the ensuing set from that penalty got us nothing. The 2 would've won us the match. It's exactly the type of play that won St George most of the close matches in their premiership year.

Brain dead…and never happens before a result is known, never...for a very good reason

Its a losing, defeatist mentality...the opposition would grow two extra legs on that move

Agree to disagree with you there, Ink. It has happened many, many times before and, in my opinion, it's more an astute decision than a defeatist attitude, in certain situations - this match being one of those situations.

6 down and teams take the two?
Many times eh? Nothing springs to mind for me.
Maybe on the stroke of h/t….was that the case last nite?

Why dont teams slot a field goal in the 7th minute, the first or 2nd time theyre in range?
The opposition surely wouldnt expect it, surprise surpise!!! tactic.
Might come in handy one week every five.
