I watched with amazement today on how straight and hard our premiership team hit the ball up today. Our forwards were an inspiration and didn't demonstrate the hand brake and spin or the shuffle before the line our first grade team does.

My question is for the those who may have some insight in to the coaching at Wests Tigers. Is it the players or the coaching staff that is creating the different styles?

Quick play the balls is the reason. Today, our guys won the wrestle and were able to hit the advantage line before the defence was set.

Our NRL side very rarely wins this battle and as a result, we are faced with offensive defence all the time.

Mate, I can tell you for a fact and directly from Heighno and another WT second rower's mouth that the back rowers/locks were trained to run at markers and they hate it. They think it's a stupid tactic that Sheens thought was a great way for wearing out the opposition, targeting players and second phase play. Heighno was forced to do it for the last few years..FACT.

So Todd Payten who played under Sheenius for years threw that method out in his first year of coaching. I'm so pumped to see what a new coach can do next year.

assuming we get a good one.., I'm sure Payten didn't discard everything sheena taught, he WAS a good coach, he just lost his touch.

I can believe that, but I didnt see Blair run anywhere near the markers in attack, he just jogged around out there on the left side. But Heighno yes and other forwards at times.
