Hodgson vs Liddle

When will the club stop this nonsense of trying to buy leadership packaged in a retirees body?
Why aren’t we looking / fostering leadership internally ?
Sheens is a start.

How do you know they haven’t been trying but no one has it in them?

In the words of that legend who talks backwards..
“Do or not do. There is no try.” - yoda

Liddle is a very good hooker forward that would start with quite a few clubs. Simpkin is also a very good prospect learning his trade in the lower grades and being promoted ahead of his time to the NRL due to necessity.

I don’t understand why we’re chasing a 9? Particularly a slow 32yo? Unless Liddell has indicated he wants out?
I see Maguire’s priority is to settle on the 6,7,9,1 and 13?

I think for the balance of the team, we can only carry 2 hookers in the top 30. If Simkins is classed as a dev contract, then I would say have both Liddle and Hodson in there. If Simkins is top 30, we would need to pick one only.
I know my count is simplistic, but I would have:
FB 2
W 4
C 4
H 4
P 6
H 2
S 6
L 2
as my 30. Obviously some would need utility value, i.e. a half that can play in the centres, but wouldn't it be nice to have enough specialists in each position, rather than a half a dozen utilities?

I'd back Lids in the Octagon ..

Didn't Lids get his head punched in from LL?

Mountain out of a molehill that situation imo

Yup. Stuff like that happens on a weekly basis even at the best clubs.

The comment above yours is the funniest:

Sheens is a start.

I just find it funny were doing the wrong thing by buying Leadership in a Retirees body...So the solution is Tim Sheens!

At least its not Tommy R. Rest his soul.

Tbf, there isn’t much chance of Sheens doing an ACL and being a drain on our cap.

Interesting to note hodgson and Brooks have the same player manager so wouldn't expect any resolution any time soon.

Want to wage a tenner on that? With Sheens, anything is possible - good and bad.

hurry up Tigers and make the swap Liddle for Hodgo

They're holding out for our super star Simpkin.

Trouble is that will be at least 2 years and Hodgson will be 34 by then.

Its a no brainer, Lids was coming back from injury last year and did well, he is only going to get better for it this year, Hodgo also coming back from injury and only at the end, showed some sort of form, age is against him. No way would he be scoring that try against Panthers. Keep Lids, save our money, we have two hookers already, and buy someone we actually need. There is no need to pannick buy

Completely agree TT.Why do canberra a favour in taking a 32 year old player who is only going to get worse and is not mobile enough for the modern game and give them a younger player who is?Madness especialy when you consider the older player has had 2 recent ACL's.That is the sort of dumb decision the club has excelled at in the past

It's never going to be Easy with Isaac managing hosgson.

I wouldn't go down that road.
