Not a single player is contracted past 2017, no it isn't the tv rights deal because we are the only team to do this…what is going on? Even Taylors contract ends in 2017.

Just had a squizz at Zero Tackle and the first Club I came to was the Brisbane Broncos and the only player they have contracted past 2017 is Sam Thaiday…even Bennett's contract expires in 2017.....Strange times indeed.....

We have absolutely no one contracted past 2017, we have re-signed players who deserved more than a 2 year deal,it has become quite apparent that something is going on. No club would allow all their best players to come off contract in one year. The difference between Broncos and the Tigers is the fact that they haven't got their entire squad off contract in 2017, they have distributed it evenly with some key players off in 16' and others in 17', recently it has been made clear that Milford and Hunt will also be extending. Your point is true GEO but i believe that it is a completely different scenario.

Might have something to do with the salary cap rise and players not wanting to commit for longer so they can command big dollars. But might as well blame that on the club too.

Ok you got me curious so I went through all Clubs here is the list that have player numbers signed past 2017,,,

Brisbane 1
Canberra 3
Dogs 6
Sharks 3
Titans 0
Manly 6
Storm 3
Warriors 8
Knights 7
Cowboys 2
Eels 4
Panthers 6
Souff's 2
Dragons 2
Rorters 5

So the glass half-full in me tells me there will be a whole bunch of talent coming off contract in the next 2 years …With the decisions being made now...Wests Tigers should be in a position to go into the market with more success than previously....

OR,,,the sky is falling in...

the 4 clubs with the highest off contract are the Dragons, Tigers, Knights and titans.
All are in debt to the NRL?????

You forgot broncos cows and souths aswell

According to Zero Tackle in 2017 we have 17, Dragons 20, Titans 19, Knights 13.
Broncos have 11, Souths 9, Cowboys 12.

That said it has a lot to do with the TV deal and they are possibly the worst rosters in the NRL anyway.

Souff's only have 11 players contracted for 2017 so that's another way to look at it….

Oh and on your point above Wests Tigers owe no debt to the NRL...that money was loaned to the BDRLC to meet their financial obligation to the Wests Tigers and will be paid back come 31 March 2016 one way or another...

I agree , the clean out will be on a gain next season at the end , we will move maybe another 6 to 8 players on and start buying a few ready for a break out 2017 in spending
With maybe 3 top liners coming in and we retain our best young guys who will have improved in 2016 ready for a big crack in 2017
