Come on, help me out. Im looking for some suggestions. So far we have tossed up Fiji, Hawaii, disnayland…..but open to suggestions.

Its me, the the missus and 2 boys aged 5 and 7.

I certainly do have a budget, and i do want somewhere easy for us to have fun with the kids.

So any help would be much appreciated. Even little things like describing what the sand is like in Fiji etc, becasue i know how disappointed i was with the sand in the whitsundays....too rocky (pebbley) and u had to wear sandals in the water. So we need soft smooth sand

Hawaii is a great trip. Lots of interesting things to do outside of beaches, safe and alot of family activities and kids clubs etc. Only downside is the flight with kids that young. But if they can handle that it is a great trip.

If you want to sit back, relax and do relatively nothing than Fiji or New Caledonia (sp?) are your choices, depending on the political climate at the time

You could do a Jetstar flight to Hawai'i, spend a few days there and do a United/AA flight to LA. Or vice versa. There are some pretty good passes for attractions that you can buy which incorporate Disneyland, Universal Studios, Ripley's believe it or not etc.

Simmos Beach?

Nah seriously Fiji is a winner. 4-5 hour flight from Oz, kids club for the little tackers, and generally all food included in your package

Sirro the perfect holiday for you and your family is a 8 to 10 day cruise to the South Pacific on a P and O cruise liner. It will be the best hoilday youll ever have as a family,if you shop around there are some great deals.

Thanx guys. Sometimes i think the kids would just love a full on holiday to the Gold Coast. Sounds crap but in reality they would probably have more fun there and we'd save thousands. Bloody hard decision

I personally decided to see as much of my country before doing too much travelling overseas . Anywhere along the Qld coast is doing great deals at the moment . Hervey Bay is beautiful ,Fraser Island also the same Sunshine Coast We have a place we stay at Hervey Bay prices really good 4 star accomodation Whale season at the moment If you are after any info pm me

There is so many companies offering cheap holidays like scoop on,our deal, team spreets, etc. The other week they had a 7 night Bali holiday for 2 A and 2 K with breakfast every morning and you got to choose from 3 resorts for $238.00 not including flights. They often have 7 nights in thailand for around the $400.00 mark for 4 people too.

King Sirro only got back from the states 6 weeks ago, went to Universal Studios which was fantastic & also Disneyland which i thought would be o.k but was fantastic. Also went San Dieg & Sea World which was great will never forget the looks on the grandkids faces or our kids faces for that matter, only downturn is 12 hour flight, hope this helps. p,s some great deals to go over there,

Western Australia is a great Holiday… Plenty to see and do.

or spend your money in the Central Queensland flood effected regions... I'm doing a trip in October and decided to do this instead of going to the Islands. I think everyone has forgotten the local people/businesses up that way once Brisbane got flooded???

Just dont wear your one-eyed Blues Jumper!

Thanx happy and BTF

If you go to Sunshine Coast King Sirro ,Watto will put you up and feed you for free
You may have to put up with him spruiking about the Easts Tigers though .

My sister and her bloke are about to go to Fiji and it looks idyllic.

I'm doing a Eurotrip in two months from the Irish Republic, London, Paris, Normandy, Germany, Austria & Italy. I'll let you know how that goes. Obviously you mightn't be able to do it all, but you may be able to go to one or two places if your budget allows.

Check with Yoss (??) isn't he in Fiji at this very moment in time

Depends what the focus of your holiday is Sirro, if the kids are the focus then as you have said, the Gold Coast has the fun parks and they will have a good time at them. Obviously if you really want to treat them then as others have said Disneyland and the like would be something they won't forget, the long flight is the downside but it could be broken up with a stop over for a couple of days in hawaii as Smeg mentioned. If the focus is just to relax then places like Fiji or a cruise as mentioned are worth considering as those places often have things for the kids to do so adults can relax. I feel sorry for you what a terrible choice to have to make.

Fiji is good if you go to the more remote islands….pretty pricey though.
I have travelled heaps - never with kids though but any of the pacific islands or Queensland would be my tip.
