Home Final at SFS

Hmm.. They didnt seem intimidated when they beat us earlier this year at Campbelltown.

It's the past. It's like me saying Easts smashed Balmain at Leichhardt Oval in the 80's - yet so many people would say the same thing you did. If we are the better team we will win. We don't have any more of a chance winning at Leichhardt Oval. It's all hype pal.

Well im not happy, they should of asked the players where they would of wanted to play. And thought a little more about the fans rather than the $$$ not to mention the greater chance statistically we have now of losing.

ill be emailing <shumphreys@weststigers.com.au>on this one</shumphreys@weststigers.com.au>

A disgraceful decision by the board and an embarassment to the clubs fans to be playing our home semi in the Eastern Suburbs.

I look forward to reading this thread again in a few days if we draw the Roosters as our opponent.

They probably thought about ANZ Stadium but decided against it because for some silly reason so many Wests Tigers fans whinged and moaned when we played home games there. The only bad thing about that stadium is you are a little further from the ground but you still can't miss anything, especially when there are 2 massive video screens there. It was alot easier to get there too - a train station right next to it, plus more parking. ANZ Stadium is also more in our area and everyone would get a ticket easily.

Even if we play the Roosters at SFS we will still outnumber them. :sunglasses:

Blatant money grab!!!
The poor players work their guts out for 26 weeks and don't even get a REAL advantage for finishing in the top 4\. The bigger problem is the flawed McIntyre system, but that is another issue.

Oh well you can't please everyone no matter what you do. I'll be at the SFS. :sign:

Yeah, i'm not buying the quote by Humphreys that the decision was not dominated by money but done for the supporters.

Thats just rubbish.

I do think it was the right business decision but why not just say that.

Alien - not every thing is about wests v balmain - Leichhardt v Campbelltown - try and see the bigger picture mate - i bet you would have been doing handstands if it was at Campbelltown. Your only motivation seems to be this agenda.

try and see whats best for the wests tigers

Thats a big blow to our chaces of winning that first match.. COOL!
Shouldve been Leichardt!

It was always going to be the SFS, and the Tigers have had reasonable success playing there.

I am seeing the bigger picture and what's best for Wests Tigers. I want as many Wests Tigers fans there at the home final as possible.

I would have gone to the game no matter which of our 3 home grounds it was held at however I am not too concerned about it being at the SFS as more of our supporters will be able to get a ticket, the players are used to the ground, the crowd is close to the action on the field (like our other grounds) the club will make money out of it, we may have to play there again in the final series. Robbie Farah has urged Wests Tigers supporters to turn up and re-create the 2005 atmosphere which he says contributed to the WTs success then. The focus now should be on us getting out to the SFS to support our team and push them along with sound and sign. Go you mighty Tigers Magpies Tigaars…..

With this decision, non members wont be rueing the fact that they havent signed up. If we played it at CS or LO I believe that would work towards more fans becoming members next year.
In a season or three, imagine a member base of 20,000 odd, and a home semi at one of our real homes.
Unfortunately imagination is where that will stay and reality will never touch that scenario

i agree with icon we can't run the club around one individuals stubborn beliefs. but alien thinks he is always right
