Warriors played fantastic and good luck next week….

But

Why when the wests tigers and Melbourne earned home ground advantage,do the nrl organize the Nz haka before kick off?before you shoot me down n say "they deserved it" or "it's not important" blah blah blah.I agree they played great.but we finished higher on the ladder n deserved our home ground advantage.
I'm aussie n that haka gives me chills so imagine what it does for the kiwis???

Just a question???

Anyone get the idea that the NRL is trying to take the focus of the Rugby World Cup and will do it by any means necessary even by "helping" the NZers

It's a fair point, I myself am half Aussie, half kiwi. I fully respect the haka, it's great to watch. At the game it was more or less a pump up for the crowd. There's no real issue for mine although the thing that annoyed me was that I heard there was $10 tickets for Warriors supporters going that week. I was pretty peeved off about that considering most payed at least $60\. The entire system is rubbish, I really hope the IC fixes it

Maybe for our version of the haka we could have Beau doing a short piece of stand up comedy before each game where he takes the pi** out of the opposition players with heighno in the dj yalla tracksuit randomly eating a kebab? :roll

The finals games are run by the NRL. In some way they have to be neutral in terms of how much coverage they give to each team, hence why there was a Tigers and Warriors ground announcer in Week 2.

I totally agree, it's a disgrace and once again proves the ineptitude of the NRL and it's administration. Warriors get comprehensively beaten in the first week, Tigers beat Dragons and as a reward we supposedly get a "home" final, only to be greeted by AT LEAST 10,000 Kiwis.

Same goes for the Storm last night, who've worked their backsides off to finish with the minor premiership, win the qualifier and get a preliminary final in Melbourne only to be greeted by another 10,000 Kiwis.

So what, Kiwis pay $10 for general admission where as fans of Tigers/Storm fans have to pay premium for general admission, yet it is those two teams who have earnt the right to host a home final. It's a disgrace, it wouldn't have had an impact on the result of both games, but the Warriors would have definitely felt right at home with that sort of turn out.

There's NO WAY they would have had such a following if these incentives weren't offered.

LOL
And you know this how?

Who cares now. The warriors are all that stands between manly and the premiership. The entire pre game entertainment this Sunday can be all the different versions of the haka and the nrl can pay for the flights of 40,000 kiwis to attend. Anything to stop manly.

The Haka was done by supporters of the Warriors sitting one or two bays. It wasn't organized by the NRL. It was organized by a NZ expat group called KiwiLocals who promoted it on Facebook.
From what I could see from Bay 31 the SFS was 80% Wests Tigers supporters. It certainly seemed like a home ground advantage for the WTs.

Why is everyone so worked up about the Haka? After all Benji is Kiwi and it didn't have an uplifting effect on his game the other night.

Are you telling me they would have got 10,000 if these incentives weren't offered?

It's not rocket science Ink, you don't see 10,000 Warriors supporters every time they play in Sydney or anywhere in Australia for that matter, I don't think it's a coincidence they start randomly appearing after getting humbled by the Broncos in Week 1.

how come then melb got a home game and the eagles had to play at football stadium, and by the way i hate manly.
Just on another note did anyone see the eagles 1st try the player playing the ball was facing the sideline and not one word from the channel nine panel.

every time they play in Sydney or anywhere in Australia is quite different to a week II semi final….they dont play those every week. A bay or two of warriors fans in one corner should not make any difference to a games outcome, Keep looking for excuses...we werent good enough, they were

We sold our soul and any home ground advantages back in 05 when we started using Telstra for our main games

Geez :unamused: You'd have to be a little slow wouldn't you? Read my first post, what did I say about the impact it had on the game?

Common sense should prevail Ink, if you're team gets smashed the week before and is given no chance of beating the team your playing this week, are supporters going to turn up? No, that is the nature of supporters, they will turn up when their team is winning and are going well, the Warriors however, were given no chance of winning this game by many.

If however, tickets are on sale for $10 and their is a pre-match "haka" before hand organised by the KiwiLocals or whatever they call themselves, that is a huge incentive to get out to the game and support their team.

As I said, it is no coincidence the Warriors have had huge support over the last 2 weeks.

I agree Cub the side who finishes lower on the table should not get any advantages over the team finishing higher
If we finish 6th next year and play Manly in a second semi at SFS will we be given the advantages of $10 tickets and be given the right to sing our team song as the players are coming on the field Answer Not in your life
That is the difference Ink I
If its ok for one it has to be ok for all and we all know that will never happen

I also want want to add there was no "eye of the tiger" as the boys ran out, dunno what happened there

We wont get any advantages as our team is well supported

I dunno what the point of this thread is….people whinging coz some of the other teams fans turned up...the tickets were available to everyone not just warriors fans.

Geez :unamused: You'd have to be a little slow wouldn't you? Read my first post, what did I say about the impact it had on the game?

I doubt this thread would exist had we won, just another whinge.....
