How did it get worse?

I saw another post somewhere which I totally agreed with. If you signed the players we signed to just about any other team, you are competing for a premiership that year, Yet here we are battling it out for another spoon.

As a lot of you guys knew I was never a fan of Maguire but I truly believe we are worse now, all the so called experts say we will improve, I just can't see it, I think there's too many in our roster that clearly don't want to be here
 
If we even had average standard 1/6/7 every chance we're 4-0

Laurie, Doueihi and Brooks have just been so far below NRL standard its embarrassing. Its no wonder guys like Klemmer, Kepaoa, Bateman etc are wanting to start fights every game when they're doing their job and been let down by the highest paid pricks at the club.
 
The interesting part for me is who is the priority to move on on the proviso you can't move them all at once?

  2. Douiehi
  3. Laurie
While Luke was diabolical in the first half, I felt he was better in the second and actually looked like he may have been able to ignite something. Admittedly, it was him running the ball rather than providing for others. I am not saying he is a halfback either but offers more than the other 2.

AD looks noticeably slower since his last ACL injury and his decision making in defence has been found out numerous times . I see him potentially as a ball playing lock but unless he commits to a higher workload in regards to defence and takes the salary of a non-spine player, he should be moved on in my opinion.

Dane is too small a body on kick returns and is suspect under the high ball. I have not seen him play in the halves but don't think he can defend in the front line. By virtue of the Tigers not offering him an extension, I feel his time is over.

Not a great situation when we are discussing 3 out of the 4 starting spine being moved on.

I think our red zone defence is probably better. I reckon we would have leaked 40+ points going into halftime 22-6 down last year.

He's not being given the same lines as he was at the eels....that's game management from the halves.

Did we not lose 5 straight to start last year? And we were smashed in at least 1 of those early games. It's not worse... yet

Why isn't that great? We are rebuilding lmao changing majority of the spine was always going to be the next move, and we won't be paying any of them to play elsewhere. It means we're closer to a team that can actually score points.

Doueihi is not a good centre, his defence is some of the worst in the NRL. Brooks would still be playing in the halves and he'd be running MORE which is worse because... we all know how many breaks he creates when he runs (it's 0) and Hastings isn't great enough to counteract our horrible outside backs and Brooks and Laurie. He didn't last year.

Stop focussing on players who aren't apart of future and imo none of these players are. There are more players in the world than Brooks/Doueihi/Hastings lol
