How did we not..

I think we should look at a few of our players before looking at the ref. The few minutes before half time were embarrassing, A graders would not have made the same errors. Also our last two sets were terrible. Outside Brooks Thompson and to a lesse extent Masters, our backline are reserve graders

Sure our performance was pretty bad in attack, but you can't deny that with some more consistent and fair refereeing, we probably would have won today.

There was a set in the first half where Benji knocked the ball backwards and the referee standing 1m away said play on, but he was overruled by the main ref who was standing 15m away. Replay confirms knocked back.

I know you have to rise above the bad calls and find a way to win the game, but the game is getting hard to watch as a fan.

I saw an interview with Jeff Horn the other day and they asked whether he thought he would get a fair go with the refs in his upcoming fight in Vegas and his response was that he needed to take the decision out of their hands and finish the fight on his terms.

This is what we need to do as a team, I know the refs decisions can cause heaps of issues with our momentum and points against us but if we haven't got the ability to take it out of their hands with a knockout punch then we can't complain about it.

We had our opportunities yesterday but we weren't good enough to put the roosters on the canvas.

its easy to penalise an unfancied team in the last minute to cost them the game, a lot more difficult to do it to a power club against nobodies. im glad Ivan said in the press conference 'The way the last minute was refereed went against everything the referees have done this year'

i agree we should have been better, but you cant tell me the roosters were great. they didnt deserve to win anymore than we did

Off course they didnt and refereeing decisions in close games are often critical to the result. Blind freddy could see that the ref had ample opportunity to penalise them in the last set and for some reason they chose not to. While ever the question is not allowed to be asked it will continue to happen.

West’s would of found a way to loose that game even if we had fults & gibbs as refs.

This us 100% correct the last 3 sets made me cringe no doubt out lack of specialist dummy half contributed.
However successful club's also play the same way at times but the refs do help them home…...so they can work on their deficiency while getting the 2pts for mind clarity.
Gets teams in semis.

agreed the refs were terrible and the roooters got the rub of the green. but i watch the game again and it stands out like dogs b**** how many times we hit the ball up right next to the ruck thus there line does little to no work, when we do throw it wide we make teams work, Ivan really needs to get away from running right next to the ruck.

Just watched the replay now and with 1 minute to go Marsters blew that game by going from dummy half himself. Commentators were screaming he had to pass right but had he passed left to Packer, he would have scored under the posts. Cronk was the only player within Cooee. Packer at first had also tried to indicate for him to pass to the right.

We miss Liddle or a quality specialist 9 something fierce. With his nous, passing, speed and temperament (compared to Reynolds at least) we win that game. You can't really go much closer to winning but if Liddle played and was healthy we're all smiling about another victory.

Ennis was talking about the Tigers attack on Big League Wrap

All obvious stuff

Loves ET as a player but is not a 9, service to slow/poor when within 20m
Reynolds is not a 9 but need to be in the 13 as we look much more dangerous.
Liddle is dangerous but no luck with injuries
Was disappointed with Tui and thinks we need Mbye asap.

Ennis… all criticisms, no solutions. "Don't play any of these guys at #9, to cover the bloke who has no luck w injuries".

Funny how some teams just don't have a list of ready-made FG-quality replacements when their first-choice spine player isn't available.
