How many points will you need for Top 8

if we win them all we end up on 36.

if we drop half of them we end up on 28.

my predictor including losses to the sharks and titans had us on 28, two points clear of 9th on 26 points - and its what i would consider our worse case.

We need to do better than 8th though.

Seems like it will be less this year as top 5 are pretty much beating everybody, therefore less point in the middle. 28 definitly in, 26 maybe, would come down to goal difference. Though where we are going to get these point from i dont know.

**Games we should win:**
Parramatta x 2
Penrith
Roosters
Cronulla
Gold Coast

**Games we might win:**
Cowboys

**Games we prob wont win"**
Manly
Dragons

If we win the ones we should - we'll end up on 30 points.

We beat the cowboys as well, 32 points.

Manly and dragons would be a bonus, and jag us into the top 4.

We have better points difference than the other teams near us, which of course helps.

you can't tell me it isn't possible.

Its certainly possible….however traditionally the teams we struggle to beat year after year are the eels, roosters and panthers.

Considering they make up 4 of our last 9 games and Manly Dragons and Cowboys are also in the mix, as well as a rejuvenated Cronulla, it is going to take some sort of effort for us to make it.

We are not going to finsh 6-3\. Thats way to optimistic, we will lose soem of those game we should win. The team been terrible for a while now. Havent played well since secon canberra win, we are dead set lucky to be 7-8\. could easily have lost to panthers, knights and warriors.

Its never good when these threads start popping up!

No its not. How good would it be to have a season where supporters arent having to do mathematical predictions as to wheter we make the 8?

I thought this would be the year where we easily won more than we lost. Still possible but looks an almighty mountain to climb to achieve this.

with the exception of the roosters, we bucked that trend last year - beating parra twice, and soundly thumping Penrith in the second game last year - and penrith were in 2nd spot at the time.

The roosters are beatable this year. They have only played one good game all year - and it was against us.

this is more do-able than our final charge was in 2009, and we ended up 9th then, (coming from 14th) where as this time we start our charge actually in the top 8.

12 wins, 2 byes, 28 points will get you in the top 8 more often than not. 30 points will get you there for sure, 34 should be enough you get you a top 4 spot.

I think the way things are going this year with a dominant top 5 with the middle sides struggling at the moment. 26 points may be enough (11 wins, 13 losses). It's happened before:
- Canberra did it in 04 and if they lost their last game we would of snuck in with just 24 points (10 wins 14 losses).
- Back in 2001 the Warriors and the Dragons snuck in with 26 points
- And a year later, the Dragons and Canberra snuck in with 25 points (Dragons 9 wins, 3 draws and 12 losses. Canberra 10/1/13 F/A -170).

I had a play and my calculations have us finishing in 8th on 28 points, and we play the Storm in the first week of the finals 😢
