How serious the 4 injuries

Teddy and Patto went off with head knocks. Was it just concussion or were worried about something else?

Sue looked in agony with a knee or lower leg. Looked a very bad one.

Woods copped a leg knock and was limping for a minute, before hobbling off.

All in all the game was a bit of a write off. Players were playing out of position and decisions were baffling. We didn't react well at all but that wasn't that surprising. I just hope the injuries are not to bad.

The Woods one worried me.

Yes you never know with these things until the cool down ..what a lose if he can not get back on the park soon has had a stella start !

Woods and Sue worry me to be honest. Woods missed the back portion of last season with a chronic knee injury so I hope it's nothing serious, likewise with Sue. The issue we saw today was by carrying 4 big units on the bench, when a back goes down, our defensive line out wide takes a turn for the worse.

Ankle injury for Sue, scans tomorrow but it's assumed he'll miss a few weeks.

didnt it ever?! i was surprised potter put richards at fullback instead of nofo - he just seems a better fit there. also wasnt it thompson playing in the centres? paterson did well there a couple of weeks ago…

*edit: didnt realise paterson went off.

in both our losses this season, the team has fallen in a hole right after an injury (fulton week one, teddy this week).

So who comes in for sue? Assuming Fulton is still out (not sure if he is or not). We seem a little light on 2nd rowers with these injuries

don't get ur hopes up on sirro or dene, we were told 10 weeks, that was 7 weeks ago now on the injury up date it is round 13 at best, which is 16 weeks at best and I bet it is more like round 20 with the medical team we have.

ohhh let's not go down the road of Tim Sheens again where we have a winger sitting on the bench for 70 mins please/ what we need is a utility player.. until Moltzen is back we don't have one

Austin would be a perfect utility bench player.

He can play 6, 7, 9 and possibly in the centres if injuries destroyed us. Thompson and Patterson can also play in the centres if injuries strike, as well as sue, gavet and taupau who are all able to play prop and backrow.

People seem to forget that Patterson did a great job in the centres v the Titans rotating with Blair of all people

Someone said last night 2-3 weeks for Sue

Did Woods come off after the knee thing ??

That's the thing with knees , even something minor on the knee hurts after ACL because you have a screw and it moves the tinniest amount and you get pain until it settles

Unless both Patterson and Tedesco fails the cognitive tests they will be back for the Eagles

austin is not a winger. it's not the same as putting lawrence on the bench for 80.

this is a utility that can play in the halves, 2nd row and maybe even in the centres. Would have been very useful yesterday as he could slot into the 2nd row and paterson/bodene can go to the centres.

The most useful utility we could have at the club could be Mr T

But it sounds like he is not cutting it for whatever reason

I've never been much of a fan of having a back on the bench, but with the new concussion rules there will be games where you regret not having one.

they need to bring in the 18th man only for concussions. Heavy fines/comp pts stripped if its abused obviously. but it doesnt seem like the coaches have too much of a say with what the docs do to test for concussion. Although a player could potentially fake it.

Watching the NSW Cup he looks well out of match fitness, heavily bandaged leg too.

I saw Woods hobbling off after the game and It looked like it was his foot that was injured. He has his boot and sock off and an ice pack strapped around his foot.

He was walking himself up the tunnel though, which could hopefully be a good sign.
