How would you judge whether Potter has been a success?

My two uncles business has been a player sponsor for years now, and they went to a recent luncheon.

Spoke to one of them today, and he's a no BS sort of bloke, but he said he spoke to a few players like Fulton and Keith and there was an awesome vibe around the players and club. He mentioned that the players were already looking good and their minds were already on next year (He reckons Keith is bigger).

He also said that Potter "looks like an angry bloke" and came across as a guy who doesn't take crap. But was a true professional in talking, honest, doesnt carry an ego or act cocky and just said there was plenty of work to be done, but "he's going to get it done"

My uncle told me Potter was very impressive and completely different to the times he had spoken to Sheens, and exactly the sort of "kick in the butt" coach we've needed for a long time now.

I think everyone should be honest and say we want a grand final win

to begin with, 'zero missed tackles and zero errors' in the next 2 seasons

two successive grand final wins, with 0 tries conceded in both games

anything less will be considered a failure

No pressure guys

Looking at the end of the saeaon at our points against will tell me if Potter is a success. Too often in the past we leak points. Defence is having the right attitude and we need it every week. If our defence is good at the end of the year (within the top 3-5 teams for least points conceeded) we will have a good season.

I want us to improve our for and against.

That's my KPI for Potter.

2012: -45
2011: 89
2010: 34
2009: 75
2008: -32

The other big thing for me, we must absolutely win more than half our games.

Actually Sataris I reckon 2013 will be a success if we finish 12-12 with a positive for and against

Lot of changes are going to happen and they will take time

imo we are smokey's for the comp. Take the 22-1 while you can.

Essentially the same squad that started favourites last year but with a coach who will play people in position.

If we miss the 8 under Potter I will be very surprised.

That is my pass mark. The main players should want better though, their not getting any younger.

Playing to the best of our ability every week. Making the finals, I don't expect that we will win the GF but at least give it a good shake.

I agree but would be nice to have no back to back losses this year!

if we finish 12-12, with a positive for and against, then we wont have "improved" on this year.

we haven't had a F/A over 100 in the past 5 years. I think its an excellent metric, if our for and against keeps increasing, then we're playing better football.

My KPI's

- tries conceded: 2 per game max
- missed tackles: at least 20% improvement
- # breaks against: at least 20% improvement
- 2nd rower meters run: at least 90m per game
- FB meters run: more than 100 per game
- # of bombs missed: 1 per game max
- long range kicks: at least 80% of kicks around opposition's 10m or better
- kick chase/line speed: 90% of opposition's kick returns defended before 20m line
- increase of repeated sets by at least 20%
- improved ruck defence
- increased involvement of FB, centers and 2nd rowers in attack
- reduced # of penalties
- reduced # of errors
- improved attitude by all players
- promotion of NYC/BRET players

etc.

If we can win 12 games with a positive for and against ill be happy.
2014 he will need to improve on it to get a new contract.

No Ellis and still short on quality props.

And how are we going to effectively run back at the markers without Rhino

Potter has a lot to learn , hope he never gets his hands on Tim's play book 😛ray:
