How's your health?

Does anyone have or know someone who has parkinson's disease? Just found out my mum has it 🙁
My Mum has a Parkinsons....it has progressed so quickly ......she was still self sufficient in February .....by May we needed to get her in care ....she is now in a retirement home and has been for around 3 months ....we saw her 3 weeks ago and just couldn't believe how quickly it had progressed again

Thank you krissy there is no way I'll put her in a nursing home
With Mum we didn't have a choice ...she couldn't manage her medication .....she was taking her medication at 2am instead of 2pm she had become fixated with her medication
My sister spent 6 weeks almost doing 24 hr care with us travelling down 3 times to ease some pressure off my sister
Her neurologist has informed us she has Alzheimers and Lewy body dementia
If we could have cared for her we would of

My grandfather had the same type of dementia and went downhill quickly. From driving one day to needing a walking frame 4 months later.

And yes, the family were all assisting with his care, but as you say it became too much and he had to go into aged care.

Well today I take a 3 night cruise to nowhere out of Brisbane , friends coming along so should be good , if your crook these are the things I suggest you put in a list and strive for specially if youve been real crook , short trips with friends and lots of them , I’m back Sunday , relax Monday then on Tuesday is the day I get a port installed in my chest and start chemo again Tuesday arvo , when I get back Monday I hope this mess with HBG is more sorted by the nrl fast action is required so our whole off season is not ruined and we keep Richo which I’m not sure will happen , I have him walking at about 80% chance now the clowns are in control

My father is in his upper 80s and at 39 had his first heart bypass. He was informed by the specialist he wouldn't live past 50. He had a second bypass in his early 50s where surgeons had the technology to perform grafts at the back of the heart. He was also diagnosed with prostrate cancer in his 50s and declined the radical operation. Three of his friends from Uni had the operation and they are all RIP. Dad is still getting along well and enjoys his life. He walks everyday with mum and eats healthily. The biggest concern for his health is WTs.
