Humble to raiders ?

How dare anyone say Moltz should be let go CK :imp:

I included Ayshford , Gunner.
IMO they are proven firstgraders - would you seriously choose Iosefa , Grant , Meaney and Moors over those two?

Don't have too much of a problem with the guys you have listed batboy, but we need to keep Ayshford. The guy is class and his ability to break tackles and stand in tackles is always useful. Sure his form has been inconsistent this year but his groove is coming back.

I don't think Meaney offers much, but he probably isn't on much coin either.

The problem is TS that Ayshford is a second year player and should be on the improve and he is not on the improve

Thats a pretty big concern Many players (as we have all seen the in the past ) if they struggle in their second season fail to go on to great heights

I'm going to be filthy if we let Utai go. No player deserves a contract more then he does

Same here GNR Utai plays good every week from day one he doesn't need half the season to find form. Bell and Utai deserve a new contract. Seeing this is about Humble he has a lot of potential would like him to stay as well.

If Aysh isn't already, i'm sure he's about to be a dad. maybe he has been struggling with that. Although i don't think since the team has turned the corner he has been given to many chances to get some consistency in the centres.

and as a father of two younglings, yes, that would probably explain a few things.

Humble would be jatz crackers not to get out of Concord as quick as he can. The bloke who picks the team rates him well down the list so basically he is stuffed and lets face it come 2013, Teddy at no1, Siro at 6 Benji at 7 and Farah at nine dosnt leave to many doors open. I think he is a talented footballer who could probably hold down a no6 job in some clubs.

Was looking at Rhinos stats from the GF the other day, (I'm a little vague on it…) But he made over 100m, A couple breaks in 47min from the bench!!
He would be lucky to have done that in 80min the last 3 seasons. He gets monstered in attack, His Jigging before the line and getting smashed is getting old. Great club man, Hard worker... But well past his best!!
Got rid of Bryce Gibbs and kept Heigno?? Makes no sense.
Of that list, Utai is the only one who deserves a contract, Despite his deffiencies... He is really starting to gell!!
For me, At seasons end... I would be happy to see the end of **Moltz** (Although I can't fault his last month) Heigno, Lote, Humble, Spence, Spencer, **Ayshford** or Reddy (No point having both of them) Ellis is gone, Simona...
That would be at least 1-1.2mil off our cap.
**I'd keep guys like Moors, Meaney, Iosefa, Grant**... Between state cup and 20's + Our new recruits...
We'll be as covered as we are now!!

So you would get rid of two young and proven first graders in your throwaways and keep a bunch of (unproven ) nobodies.
Now , that makes sense. :crazy

Crazy you say….
Question: Is the Juice worth the squeeze?
Answer... NO!!
Moltz next contract, I would think would be more substantial than what he is on (Seriously, Who's gonna take a pay cut?) Next year, Is there a spot for a $150-200k player without a regular fixed starting spot? Moltz has talent, BUT (despite your manlove for him) Even you would have to admit he is hot and cold most of the time. I can't see Moltz getting a spot in the starting 13 next year, A guy like Meaney can fill in off the bench (If need be) As good as Moltz at less than 1/2 the coin.
Moors whilst unproven would be averaging better stats than Heigno this year playing at prop (When he is a back rower)
Iosefa looked as dangerous (At times) and not made any more errors in his time (In a new team, With not much first grade) than the "Proven First Graders" You affectionately refer to.
I like Aysh, And I like Reddy... But there is no spot for BOTH of them in the team week to week... They have a similar impact and cover the same positions!! But both are on the Bench because they are working hard enough to be in the team... My opinion, Eliminate one of the options.
If Tedesco comes back at 70% of what he was in the trials and the first 30 minutes of the season, I am sorry buddy but he gets the spot at the back over Moltz!!
At wing... Moltz would be, What 5th Choice, Centre 4th, And has already been eliminated as an option from the halves!!
So you tell me mate?? Where is he gonna play next year, And if he is a "Back Up" Option for any position... Do we pay a Back up player the kind of coin Moltz would command. And how many Centre/Backrow Bench options do we need??

Yep….. also Anasta will be a back up in the halves and possibly Moltzen. He'd be mad not to go but i understand he will go to the Cowboys to replace Segyaro

Batboy , if you think Meaney is as good as Moltzen and Iosefa is better than both him and Ayshford you haven't got a clue.
I hope Tedesco does come back and plays well next year - but he's only played 30 minutes of first grade so he's not necessarily going to be rushed straight back in or even stay there (especially at 70%)
Pretty sure you have no idea of what Moltzen or anyone else would be getting paid next year - in fact not much idea about football in general.

Completly agree cktiger, well said. Tigers would only be hurting there depth with their only replacements/back-ups being the likes of Meaney & Iosefa

More to football than you see from your armchair buddy….

Humble has been terrific considering he only had 6 games under his belt when we picked him up, and we have asked him to play quite a few positions in the backline and spine since he got here.

But we aren't talking about a seasoned first grader in his prime. I'd love to keep him, but would understand if he used this season as a leapfrog into a starting position elsewhere.

I don't know if we can afford to bump him up to that level given our current depth/retention.

Still, fingers crossed that he loves it here and wants to stay!

Mitchell from the chooks is going to the cowboys and as posted before why did we not chase him as our back up nine, gee he looked sharp on sunday

Memo to batboy:
I've seen plenty on the armchair and had plenty of injuries and broken bones from playing the game.
You are entitled to your opinion but you are spouting forth like you know how much people are being paid and how the team will be selected.
Unless your name is T. Sheens you are just blowing hot air .
PS 1) The only person I have manlove for is myself 2) I am neither your 'mate' or ' buddy'

I didn't claim to know what anyone is on??
The deal he backed out of last year was well documented,
So I feel it would be safe to assume it's there abouts (Or maybe a little less)
Either way it would be more than a minimum contract (After all he IS a superstar!!)
Still no mention of what we would do with him next year should he stay?? Maybe he can lead the
inaugural WT reserve grade to victory…
Because looking at our current roster for next year, He is well trumped in every spot
Now that we're not friends... I broke my leg riding a motor bike, Does that mean I know more than you about
riding bikes?

Koribete and nofuluma will be really pushing for FG next year so Utai and lote will be fighting hard to keep their spots imo

I would hope that is the case. There's a lot to like about those two youngsters coming through.

Humble is a good player but this says a lot about the relative depth of WT and Canberra that they are so keen to get him. People complain about our recruitment - the Raiders do a shocking job.
