UNFORTUNATELY for the Wests Tigers, the international trio of Benji Marshall, Keith Galloway and Lote Tuqiri won’t line up against Brisbane on Saturday night.
But fortunately for Tigers fans — and especially kids on school holidays in the area — they have a rare and special opportunity to meet the injured superstars at Macarthur Square on Friday afternoon.
From 1pm, they will meet fans outside in Kellicar Lane for fun activities and will sell tickets at Gearzone for Saturday’s blockbuster.
But the real action will be on Saturday night at Campbelltown Stadium.
The Tigers need to win, and Tiger Talk has been told Fijian flyer Marika Koroibete could be a much-needed inclusion to the Tigers’ backline.
‘‘He is a chance of playing,’’ Tigers chief Stephen Humphreys told me.
‘‘He is really, really keen to play and has been working hard in rehab.
‘‘So we just have to weigh up if he is ready.
‘‘He could be a late inclusion.’’
The question will be who will he replace?
James Tedesco has been good on the wing (especially when he’s been moved to fullback throughout the past two games), and I’d hate to see him miss the chance to play in front of his hometown’s faithful for the first time in a Tigers jersey.
On the other hand, Joel Reddy has been solid on the other wing and played well for City on Sunday.
If Koroibete is fit, he has to play.
Coach Mick Potter has a tough call.
Speaking of Potter, although his winning ratio isn’t where he’d like it to be (two wins, four losses), he is pleasing the man who hired him. ‘‘He’s been really impressive,’’ Humphreys said.
‘‘We would like to have had a better start, but there’s been lots of injuries to key players.
‘‘Hopefully, the wins start coming, starting with this week in Campbelltown.’’
