unfortunately they're just not getting the message, so the penalties need to be harsh. the NRL cant afford to have such negative aspects associated with its public image. this is why things such as "bringing the [game/club] into disrepute" are in player contracts…

so apart from losing their jobs (which i think should be a fait accompli) i think they should be dealt with by the courts as would anyone else in society. if it is just possession and not selling or dealing then they should be penalised as such.

Todd Carney is no saint, but least he was never caught being involved with coke. He was just a piss head like the majority of guys in the 18-25 demo. As said, they're still kids, and kids will be kids regardless of their profile. If they were that tough on Carney, they can't be any less tough if these guys are guilty.

I read the 4yr ban is an ASADA ban and is worlwide. Theyre facing some real consequenses even if its just possesion.
