I’m done

Born and bred in Ipswich ...little place about 15 kms out of town called Karalee

Moved to the mining town of Moura ...west of Rockhampton ...hoping to rekick footy career ...at that stage the new CQ Extended League was being spoken up and would have been a chance to look after my career options in the Mines and get paid to play a hopefully highish standard of footy

Moved because I had a good mates sister in Moura teaching at High School at Moura ...and she went on a holiday after school year and died in a freak diving accident ...two boats went out ...each boat thought she was on the other boat and they left her out there ...extremely sad

Just didn't work out ..it was just bush footy and even the Broncos weren't looking at setting a feeder team in the comp at that stage and really just moved from contractor to contractor without getting a job at the mines which may have been fortunate ..not long after moving the last Moura Mine disaster which killed 6 people occurred

Now in Gladstone been here for 28 years ....2 kids ...talking to you guys and gals lol

Sorry ladies and gents

Just to add

Just feel lucky you have a side to support still

IN the QRL /BRL I supported the Wests Panthers and ended up their from 87 to 89

They died at A Grade level in 1997 due to financial issues and horrible results …and that was after going back to back in 1992/93

Can tell you it’s not a nice feeling …

Be thankful …losing by 50 might be bad …but you can still support them next week

Ok.. I officially surrender
Having been a Tigers fan since the early 80’s I’ve been patient, I have waiting through many “ building” periods and celebrated our one GF victory ( in admittedlyone of the weakest years to date) only to watch this team drop from a strong and vibrant club to a sad shadow of its former self. It’s become like the Balmain tigers leagues club, an empty shell, a white elephant and a source of much derision.
I am hanging up my stripes until we get a strong leader, some guts and a spine both figuratively and on the field with a good halves/fullback combination.
How can we expect To be competitive without these things?

So really you are "Not Done"

You are copping out!

If the team have the same attitude - no wonder they are struggling.

Spot on Russ. There's whispers out of concord the team has been performing poorly due to @kimdel's wavering support and poor attitude.

I won't tell you about the other 5 teams @kimdel supported and then stopped saying "I'm Done."

Newtown, North Sydney, Northern Eagles, Western Reds and The Crushers.

They all performed badly after the death nell "I'm Done" and then folded.

I hold grave fears for the Wests Tigers after this thread was started.

Not sure what the point is. Penrith will be back in the pack in 2 years. Do people think them dominating is permanent?

I can't see them coming off the boil for a few years yet

That spine is young and injury free for the most

They’ll be a strong side, but they won’t be as dominant as they are now. It doesn’t last.

It depends on how they achieved their success and their capacity to continue doing the same things without deviating. Same as WT found a way to become a consistent bottom 8 club. Unless of course panthers have struck a once off generation of stars?

It’s all a cycle, though the Storm and Easts have been on the wave for a while, our turn will come again, just wish I knew when?

Tha Storm have been on the wave since their inception, I can’t recall them having a bad year. Even when they were deducted points for cheating the cap they were still winning matches.

Sadly I don’t think our mob knows how to surf.

Our time will only be the odd successful season. I can't see us being a force for a decade or anything like that.

I'm 36 this year, I have seen Balmain/Wests Tigers play finals 5 times in 31 seasons.

I think I worked out Wests fans of my vintage would have seen finals 6 times in the same time.

I'm also 36. Sitting a few rows deep where Buckets scored against the broncs in the 05 semis, let alone the following weeks atmosphere when we rolled the steelers are memories that no amount of pain can replace.

As much as at times WT make me feel ill.
The thought of supporting any other team makes me feel worse.
The thought of the sort of programs my wife and daughter would have me watch if I didn't have minimun 4 days a week of rugby league makes me feel even sicker.

But most importantly my 9 yr old son loved his dad enough to become a suffering tigers fan. When his mates say why don't you go for someone good like the roosters or storm, I tell him to simply respond **black and gold never fold**.

You'll have to change your little ditty, as Wests Tigers colours also contain white.

We are the Chuck Wepner of the NRL.

Black and White are our club colours
Wearing them we're brave and bold
And the only time we'll change them
Is to put on green and gold
