It is good to have a coach **with such tenacity,** willing to get on with things when things aren't going his way. He has shown this since he has been at the Tigers and all through his career. Never the flashiest player or coach, but not the worst either and always willing to back himself. Plenty of people **could learn a thing or two from Taylor;** instead of whinging because life is unfair, getting on and doing something productive… Hope he is at the Tigers for plenty more years.

What you see as tenacity I see as inflexibility and pig headedness.
He's got it in for Farah and that's all its about.
The only person who lacks cohesion with Robbie Farah is Jason Taylor.
In saying that he is the coach .
There were plenty of options to move Farah on without causing this disaster - which has split the team, supporters and sponsors.
Taylor was incapable of implementing any of them.
The only tenacity you could say Taylor has shown in this episode is how to find an excuse to punt Farah (poor as it is) and never sway from it.
Must have been festering in his head for nearly a year - he is now showing all the exceptional qualities of a true weasel.

Please let us know what just a few of those plenty of options are CK?

I am truly interested in what others on the other side of the fence see that would allow me to have any sympathy for a player that I still think was unfairly overlooked and up there with the best for a few seasons.

Sorry, formerguest, didn't see your post but I'll reply now.
The obvious option was to give Farah an exit deserving of his status in the club.
He asked Taylor if he could play out 2016 to have his last Origin tilt and to try to get another title for the Tigers.
He would then opt out of his last year and play in Superleague - saving the club heaps of money.
Unbeknown to him Taylor thought he had an ace hiding up his sleeve in Ballin so he knocked it on the head and we had the famous 'stay and you'll be playing in reserves'.
You can imagine how Farah must have felt when, soon after, we signed Ballin - when we already had Halatau as a backup hooker and were grooming Cherrington.
Taylor now had to do what he could to force Farah out.
He has his reasons to not want him in the team (which I believe are idiotic) however ,Instead of offering an olive branch from the club the sore has been left to fester.
We are at the back end of the year now - if he REALLY thought Farah was no good for the team he should have dumped him from the start.
Instead Taylor would have been sweating on Ballin getting fit so he could dump Farah … but then his plan went awry when Ballin injured himself again .
Now we have the 'cohesion' farce.
The club could easily have sat Farah down and been forthright.
Taylor wants you gone but we owe you nearly $2 million - lets work something out.
If you don't want to play for another NRL team we'll subsidise your contract in Super League and offer you a GUARANTEED position within the club, retire and we'll keep you in house at the club ... anything!
Yet we still get Taylor saying every second day 'Robbie Farah is still part of this club blah blah blah...'
Can anybody who supports Taylor in this mess honestly say they believe a word of this?
The only way Farah will get another go is if we have a terrible run of injuries in the forwards or someone higher up than Taylor tells him to pull his head in.
Sorry ... turned into a rant lol

Very sensible rant. The club needs to wash its hands of taylor allow robbies contract to take its course then apologise to the fans for the mess it helped create. 😛ray:

Thanks for your reasoned reply. I wrote a looooong and reasonably detailed response yesterday with my view on most of your points, but sadly must have lost my connection and was asked to log back in, Suffice to say it really annoyed.

Basically….... as I have been posting about the poor service that Robbie supplies the young halves long before this blew up, well the coach has a point and truly believes in his decision, though his words of late are political.

Phil Moss and the board along with Taylor were driving this a year ago when they called in Ayoub. It seems implausible that options you aired were not discussed then or the coming weeks when Farah was informed. Pascoe came on board and stuffed things for mine by basically guaranteeing the nine role to the player, hoping that per discussions he would go this year and delaying the inevitable. The inevitable has now come back to bite and the process is back to square one.

Robbie is a prickly character, he even admits it and with the amount of smoke associated with reports of him over the years and from my recollection only one temporary denial, so for mine there has to be fire. The words of some closer to the action solidify my view.

If he somehow plays for WT again I will happily cheer him on, if not, good riddance.
