I think Austin is a runner

Glad you think he's a runner because most great 5/8s are/we're runners (Daley, Fittler) he also has good timing and awareness and great touch, he's got too much of a 'footy brain' that playmaker type of footy nous to be put in the centres, he's got half written all over him.

That's what I don't get. I see him play and get the impression that he has a footy brain, he knows when to back himself and is a good percentage on that call, he structures a good attacking run. He can kick and give plenty of option for others.

Then I see threads like this talking as if he is a dope. It isn't the first but it seems to be the same group of people. What am I missing.

Now I see why you were so defensive of Austin in my other post. Mate it's called opinion, and why are you trying to change my opinion or tell me I'm wrong. I don't mind him at all but you think others have hatred towards him. How do you come to this conclusion. You have to accept opinions, right or wrong. Like I said to me he only has utility value. Now wake up to yourself, is he your wannabe lover or something.

I guess it would be a good idea for you not to start threads with ""thoughts"", because I gave you what you wanted.

It isn't unheard of for a man to have a man crush, although I am not stating one way or the other.

I take it now you don't want my thoughts, so I will not comment further to what my thoughts are.

The manly halves were on another level to our halves tonight. I'd put Moses at 6 kid won't let u down.

Yep…so true. DCE gets his share of praise but oh what we would give for a Keiran Foran type right now. It was a masterclass last night. But, by comparison, there's also a huge difference in experience at NRL level. Maybe things will be reversed in a year or two.

I think we have to put him there. Austin deserves a spot as well and I think as the right centre he will fit in perfectly.

Did we watch the game last night and see how Moses was man handled ,he WILL not be at 5/8 next season IMO he is at least another season away .Next years season starts in 7.5 months and there is no way his build will change in that period to start at 5/8, Austin or Moltzen will start next season at 5/8.

Brooks is actually really fast and Lawrence does look like he's got a portion of his speed back. Haven't seen him in a foot race in ages but he looks like he has heaps good leg speed again…

One of the positives I took from last night was seeing Lawrence running. Didn't look to be super quick, but for the first time in a couple of years he looked to be trusting his legs at pace.

i think brooks needs to adjust his speed according to the players around him. far too often, he accelarates quickly then looks for runners who are way behind him.

as for moses/austin- in attack, 5/8 and fullback are interchangable in attack but in defense austin would be much better in the front line than moses.

when moltzen comes back, i think austin/moltz could easily switch to centre if their defensive decision making is improved

I'm sorry to all you Moses lovers but i would have Austin over Moses any day of the week . Austin has a footy brain on him and knows how to read the line very well , has great anticipation and energy .
I think Austin best position is a Lock 13 , ball running back rower who tackles tirelessly .

I think Moses has the better all round skills required for a five eighth and I hope eventually the position is his. However, I also get the argument that Austin might be more physically equipped for 6 at this stage. I really like the idea of Blake at centre and I hope he's given a shot there before the end of the season with Moses inside him.

Its obvious Mosses will be at 5/8 next year, so I would like to see Austin play centre….Moltz could also turn out to be a good Centre

IMO Austin is an average first grader, and he has been hyped because everyone was desperate for him to replace Anasta.

I would say is more than average.

He does have X factor, which only some players can bring to the table. Players like keithy or bodene, will never bring this.

However i still believe he is very raw. He had only played less than 20 first grade games as well. And needs time to develop like most younger players.
