I think the issue is Sheens

If we had Wakeham at 7 instead of the myth we would have won on Sunday. If Sheens is picking the side it's 110% Sheens fault. PERIOD
Well Winston perhaps this weekend you’ll get your wish and see Wakeham in all his glory. Wakeham couldn’t crack the Doggies when they were at the bottom of the pile. I’m not as excited about Wakeham as most on here. I’d have much preferred Will Smith than Wakeham, even at halfback

Please don't use the supporter tag , its a piss weak throw away word that the wankers running this club throw out all the time .EVERYBODY here ,watching or interested in Weststigers is a supporter!

Huh? don't use supporter tag but you call everyone here, watching or interested in WT ....a......supporter.

Anyways, you make an excellent point on the people running the club so I may not understand what you mean but I agree 100%!.

Hmmm, dunno about that. There were good signs in patches and it was enough for optimistic views. Most people are here because they are supporters and want the club to succeed.

Brooks, over a decade, has given very little for anyone to get optimistic about. The difference is the people that were hopefully optimistic about Laurie / AD have changed their opinion based on on field performances after a relatively short time. Somehow, people still support Brooks...after a decade. How can they do that and still say they support the Club?
They're fans of Brooks, not the club. Hopefully once he's out the door to Superleague or some other struggling NRL club they'll follow.

Spot on Earl, but not 5 hit ups and a kick.
Straighten the attack, draw and pass, extra man plays are all fairly simple .
And have a look at some the other teams crisp passing, ours always seems a bit clunky !
Maybe none of the team have any footy nouse- although why are we the only club that seems to have none "nouse that is"

Keep in mind Teflon was here nearly all last year.. so his grace period is almost up.
It should already be up. He had the benefit of coasting along for a good part of last year, setting things up to to suit himself and Benji, and then a full off season to start with a clean slate. And I think what they've delivered in these first two games is probably the worst start to a season I've ever seen.

I don't mind Sheens but he is way too cocksure of himself 'all the time'. Maybe the NRL has passed him by and if so, its gonna be a long season. Can we backtrack and pick up Hasler?

Yeah like being, two steps in to a bed of quicksand, or two steps into a pile of cow shit, two steps into a mine field. Ok, boys just keep going, onward and upward ho!
At what point do we say; We're two rounds in to our eleventh season of garbage?
Wests Tigers, we're always in the F*cking game!

Sorry, that was with the last coach.

I'd like to see if Tigers can play well with Wakeham again. He was half in the only game where we looked good.

Not sure why Sheens is so hesitant. Sure, replacing a half being paid a million bucks attracts media attention and associated BS but no one can accuse the Tigers of being disloyal or unfair to Brooksy. He's had ten years. The only underperforming player I've seen be granted more leeway by a club is Darius Boyd.

Let's take emotion out of this and look at it for what it is.

In 2005, the whole squad was pretty much in the form of their lives. We could do no wrong. In 2011 preliminary final, we threw the game away vs St George when Benji kicked it out on the full in the last 10 minutes. So, 1 Grand Final win and 1 finals appearance.

Here we are in 2023 with Sheens back at the helm and have lost 2 from 2.

We have a forward pack that should be causing problems, but aren't.
Our outside backs are 'ok'.
Our playmakers aren't horrible by any means.

What are they being told to do? What is the strategy?
The Titans and Knights have read us like a book. We could attack a tryline for 20 sets straight and still not score.

I think Sheens's strategies are outdated and we are seeing the implications of this on the field. This is why we never made the finals more when he was coach first time around.
While I agree with a lot of what you say , our playmakers are terrible.. they are lazy , do not back up , and have no idea at all how to organise an attack

Or Adam Doueihi

The problem with Brooks which makes him hard to drop is that on a purely skills based footballing sense, he isnt terrible. He can break the line on occasion. He can get a repeat set on occassion. His front on defence is acceptable. He can show good toe sometimes. He is a bit like Woodsy was for me. You have a look at his stats after a game and they arent aweful.

BUT...just like Woodsy, these stats do not tell the story about how he really went. Woodsy used to get good meters and people said "look he ran for 120m, he did his job" Except he is a prop and did not make his meters up the guts, did not get quick play the balls and cause good roll on and as a result, we lost the ruck and the games. Luke is the same. People point to his 40/20, repeat sets and line break on the weekend with the official report by the club stating he was a 'standout'. However, he had a huge amount of opportunity to seal that game due to his opposition's poor discipline and injuries rendering them extremely vulnerable. This is the area he never stands up in.

Just as Woodsy never dominated the ruck, despite being a Test player, Brooks never identifies and exploits a weakness in a side to gain advantage for his team. Their stats do not tell the full story, but they are enough to keep them being selected week after week, year after year.
