On one hand we have no money to buy any good players, yet we chase luke lewis with huge dollars. Then on the other hand we let ellis, ryan, heighno and moors, humble all go and we still have no money.
Then in between this we buy two second rate backrowers and a has been in anasta.
We lack two impact forwards, some one who can bend the line and stop the other side from making yards.
We also lack depth in the centres if we lose chris or blake there is no back up at all, and dont say reddy he failed last year.
So does any one feel confused?

I REALLLYYYY DOOO!!!

nah bp just relax, everyone knew this ever since last year when we had no depth in props. as far as centres are concerned, we got simona, reddy and at a pinch meaney as well..

this is a hole sheens left due to his idiotic sense of best players instead of best players in best positions. im thinking it will at least take us a year to fill the hole sheens has left us in tbh

as far as money is concerned, it's just something, imo DT came up with in the off- season to sell papers.. it's nothing. every club is short on funds…we only went after LL coz he was a good players, the recruitment dept/sheens didnt really realise that we have enough backrowers already

Thompson will be a surprise packet,Pettybourne will be alright too,Anasta is what we needed, someone to take the pressure off Benji and Robbie, someone to take control down the stretch, and Reddy was poorly used by Sheens,he had no consistency,he was moved all around the shop, sometimes 2 and 3 moves a game, let him play right centre and he will be fine.
You are a glass half empty person I presume,we will be fine with Potter calling them on their form,we will be finals bound.

Its obvious that if we got Lewis, plenty of reshuffling would have been required. In a way we are lucky we missed him.

Iam sure your right and lets hope now Sheens is gone the policy of buy than flick to balance the books will cease

The real X factor for 2013 will be Adam Blair. In 2012 he played in second gear, taking advantage of the fact that Sheens, who was behind Blair's big dollar move to WT, did not want to lose face by dropping Blair to State Cup. With a new coach Blair will not be afforded that luxury again. Blair's resume states that he plays second and prop and I believe that the latter position is the one he will occupy, from the bench, through most of the season. If this occurs WT do not need to spend money to buy another prop.

And sign Anasta instead.Hmmm. :crazy

If Blair plays prop, then Anasta can play lock, with Fulton and Ben MM/Pettybourne on rotation in the second row.

As for back-up in the centres, Sironen deserves a spot somewhere, and is unlikely to begin the season in the halves (Benji/Miller) and Moltzen can cover centre as well, if Tedesco starts as full back. Neither Lawrence nor Ayshford played well last year.

Anyone know how Matt Groat is, fitness-wise? If he starts we have four props (counting Blair).

If the media is to be believed, Braith is on $200k per year, which is a good deal for us.

Yeh Theres no way we paid overs for Braith Anasta 200k is good value. And did use forget his a primership winning five eigth he has all the experince we need he will be a cheap but big buy for the club.

I would assume the primary reason we have no dosh to spend is because we needed to upgrade and keep the crop of youngsters coming through from the 20s & 18s etc.
The future needs to eat … And for all the vitriol he receives, it's a future Sheens has overseen...

Could be wrong however ... It does happen.

thought the same, he will keep our centres honest this year, esp aysh who's struggling

and if injuries strike, he is a good back up to havve

I was confused but not entirely dissapointed.

No one is going to like me for the next few comments but -

Heighno was a great clubman and was a part of a great premiership winning side, But soft. Played a lot of minutes and tackled a lot but did not offer a great deal when it came to attack. He will struggle to fit into the sharks 1st grade team by mid year.

Beau Ryan in my opinion was a fool. He got lucky this year I think,,, because he had some shockers prior to that from what I remember, and a high profile player like he is has controversy awaiting him just around the corner. And yes I have met him and my experience is probably part of the reason.

Not confused about Ellis,, He was always going to leave…. Very confused about moores? he was better than Blair who was selected week in week out.

Peace,

I dont necessarily disagree with you. I would have kept beau but his leaving has created an opportunity for someone else to stand up.

I am not part of the Moors fan club. He had opportunities which he did not take. Some will say he wasn't given a fair go and that may be true, but I thought we had better options.

In saying this, I think Bellamy could bring out the best in him.

Losing players creates opportunity and I can think of no better time for someone in the shadows to stand up then under a new coach.
