IAM CONFUSED????

I was confused but not entirely dissapointed.

No one is going to like me for the next few comments but -

**Heighno was a great clubman and was a part of a great premiership winning side, But soft**. Played a lot of minutes and tackled a lot but did not offer a great deal when it came to attack. He will struggle to fit into the sharks 1st grade team by mid year.

Beau Ryan in my opinion was a fool. He got lucky this year I think,,, because he had some shockers prior to that from what I remember, and a high profile player like he is has controversy awaiting him just around the corner. And yes I have met him and my experience is probably part of the reason.

Not confused about Ellis,, He was always going to leave…. Very confused about moores? he was better than Blair who was selected week in week out.

Peace,

I don't think you can call Heighno soft, he was bloody durable for us for many years and always did his share of the dirty work in attack and plenty of defence. Maybe lacked a bit of punch in his hit-ups but he was a champ for us IMO

This is why i'm broken and a little confused myself -

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Moors played his junior football for Cambridge Park before being signed by the Penrith Panthers. He played for the Panthers' Premier League reserve-grade team in 2006.[1] In Round 1 of the 2007 NRL season he made his NRL debut for the Panthers against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

In a 2009 pre-season trial, Moors suffered a broken ankle which stopped him from playing first-grade that season.

In September 2009, Moors signed a 1-year contract with the Wests Tigers starting in 2010, with the Tigers having an option to extend his contract for a further season.[2]

Moors became a regular interchange player in the second half of 2012, making 14 appearances for the year. **He said, "It’s something I have struggled with over the last couple of years, keeping my weight down but it’s been good this year. I’m starting to feel more comfortable in the team now."[3]**

who's great idea was this - poor big guy Moorsy - he was supposed to get bigger and bigger not smaller and smaller. Is this why he couldnt play first grade cemented in the pack.

then it goes on to say…..

**Statistically, Moors was revealed to be one of the most effective tacklers in the NRL in 2012, with a 94.1% success rate in tackles.[4] He was also a member of the Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers side that lost the NSW Cup grand final.[5**]

On 13 September 2012, Moors signed a 1-year contract with the Melbourne Storm starting in 2013.[6]

I'm upset that Belly ache will get his hands on him before Potter got the chance. Our biggest loss.

Statistics can be misleading though…Moors wouldn't have made too many tackles for us in 2012 coz he didn't play much.

Being able to keep weight down isn't just about size is it.

If he was packing on lean mass, I doubt he would be worried. But if he was hitting maccas on the way home from training and failing skin fold tests he would probably be right in trying to keep the weight off wouldn't he?

Thank God for Miccy Dees

I was always a fan of moors and really annoyed Sheens kept overlooking him… but then I watched him closely in defense.

I remember 20 mins for 4 tackles as an example... if only we could hide Benji like that

Its obvious that if we got Lewis, plenty of reshuffling would have been required. In a way we are lucky we missed him.

Iam sure your right and lets hope now Sheens is gone the policy of buy than flick to balance the books will cease

Let Moltzen go….no wait lets sign him for 3 years.
Sign Gibbs for 3 years....no wait lets let him go.
Beau Ryan resigned..just hold on contract is coming....no wait you can go.

Was that just a Sheens policy was it ? I am just asking I don't know.

Yeah its not like you see the Bennetts ,Haslers or Bellamy's doing the same

I think Sheens in the end was trying in vain to save his bacon and tried to make some accountable for 2012

I would have thought Bennett, Hasler and Bellamy would discuss ideas about player retention and recruiting with their staff.

I know Sheens has gone but everyone else who possibly would have been advising Sheens is still there at camp Concord. It will be interesting to see what happens with Lote and other unsigned players who have been promised a contract once the new salary cap is confirmed.

Did anyone else at a first glance see the title of this thread and think "who's Ian and why is he confused?"

I am confused, as i thought Heighno went because he wanted a 3 yr contract, Beau went i thought because his mate went. Now as someone said Ellis was always going & i thought Benji wanted to go to the Dragqueens but the Tigers wouldnt let him go, more to that rumour then what people think. So yes i am confused.

you seem to know more than your letting on here???

sorry guys, i'm talking bout the tier below Gareth Ellis. Gareth is Wests Tigers folklore.
I was thinking about the mere mortals - Beau Ryan, Rhino, Humble etc.

Moors i think can improve the most of the above lot.

I apologize if i caused me fellow forum members with any unforseen anxiety.

I am Confused as to why someone would wait 7 months after becoming a forum member to produce their first post. And its in response to little old me. I feel so honored.

The Wests Tigers could do with that sort of patience.

It is a little perplexing to say the least 😕

Well you should feel honored that a man of my stature would choose to respond to you first. Fact is this is a public forum and should be treated as such.

I do find some posts by certain members insightful but generally most of the time they are amusing.
