Ice on 'that' play...

Ice chased Hunt.

Gets back up.

Runs into the space that stops Sloane from scoring.

Chases Suli and slips.

Gets back up.

And is in the tackle that sends the winger into touch.

FOUR efforts on one play. FOUR.

Most players would have given up...he literally got up twice and went again.

That is the culture we need.

That was Origin level effort. Not all bits succeeded, but he just kept getting back up and going again.

Most people may not even have noticed, but that builds culture. FOUR efforts on one play after playing all game in the pack.

We have not had that 'effort' since Ellis.

Bula was also great on that play.
Tackles Hunt, keeps moving and gets a bump on Suli and forces him to offload.
Then makes the tackle on Ravalawa.
All on the same play.

No way Daine Laurie puts in back to back to back effort plays like that.

Yep...Daine simply does not make that play.

And Tuilagi and Garner in 2022 would have both stopped after the first effort.

Laurie wouldn't have even been there to make the first tackle on Hunt... Hunt would've gone clean straight through and Laurie would've been chasing from the opposite side of the ruck

Aboslutely! There is nothing as inspiring for the players to see than a 110% effort. That is why at every successful play, tackle, try-saver, players come from everywhere to celebrate. It takes one blink of an eye but the impact is immediate. To quote "From little things, big things grow.."

Great puck up mate.

Effort on effort is what has held this club back. The more we do of this, the more likely it becomes contagious and we turn that corner.

I think we are starting to see the culture that players like Api, Ice & Klemmer bring. Api is in everything. Ice has been progressively getting better every week & today was outstanding on a number of occasions.

It just holds the other players to account. Wakeham isn't missing tackles. Nofa is putting in. Talau was outstanding in defence. This is what these guys were bought for.

Got Stepped twice for tries, but looked liked he was really down on himself for it and was having a go to make up for it.

Granted, though he had a lot to make up for from his part in two tries they scored earlier in the match.

Badly over read Sullivan for a try earlier good sign on that play also even though beaten effort is big.

Agreed.

The amount of times both back rowers made an in-effective tackle and layed in the ruck watching play go on was ridiculous. Gotta keep moving and not clock off.

Laurie's most frustrating aspect is his positioning (lack of) and effort without the ball

I didn’t notice that effort…good for him.
He was very ordinary today other than that. No wonder he still had gas in the tank in the final minute. Still concerned with whether he has committed to this squad.
