Idris & Lousi

Idris is the last player we need, we want players who are winners, players who come from a winning culture/environment,players who will do anything to get themselves fit for the next game and players who are as tuff as rusty nails. I just do not see Idris as this sort of player and it has to be remembered both the titians and the Pennys have shown him the door

This is why WTs get themselves into trouble….

Pay huge amounts and get non performers for us (Blair for example)

Or try and get bargain basement buys with excess baggage..(Idris)...

No thanks, bide our time, develope the kids, then wait until quality is on the market and we have money to purchase them ......

Love Idris.. Handy making meters out of defense, and someone who can get to those last play bombs near the goal line to cross over. Idris with Tedesco running a line behind will cause havoc for defenders.

So with Idris being released today from the final year of his panthers contract, would you guys take the punt on him? I really couldn't see him commanding big dollars coming back from this and personally I think for the right price he could be an awesome addition. An actual threat out wide, a damaging runner of the footy and would mean we would have a very respectable pair of centres at the club. Centre has been probably one of our weakest positions over the last few years. I know there is risk with Jamal but if they can somehow keep him focused and happy, I think this is the type of signing that could really turn things around for the Tigers

If Gould could not get the best out of him it would be hard to imagine anyone else doing so but I would still love to give the boy a chance when he has got his act together

Idris at his best is a handy addition to any team.

But there are obviously issues there, lets hope he sorts himself out as he seems like a nice bloke overall and it would be a pity to see that talent go to waste.

a good challenge for JT if he decided to sign him. for once i'd like us to be a club where good players go to get a 'fresh start'. we struck gold with naiqama and hope we can with idris too. penriff would be paying part of his contract wouldnt they?

I doubt it. Idris asked for the release so he is breaking the contract. I think Penrith are probably happy to free up the cap space. Very unlikely Penrith are paying anything unless he was "pushed".

If the man doesn't want to play, a year off won't help. Hoppa junior had the world at his feet and 2 years off and wanted to play and has never been the same player.

Idris has some pretty big issues away from football. Definitely wouldn't want him at our club it we are trying to establish a new culture.

Can you tell us discreetly what those issues are?

Idris has zero passion for the game, i'd even go as far as saying he hates it. One of the biggest wastes of talent in recent memory.

I think he loves the game, he just struggles with the professional side of it. He's the bloke who wears thongs and a singlet down to the pub after a win and gets on it with the locals.
