If anyone should retire its Richards

I will probably get shot down for this & I would hate to be the first to say this but I don't see the love for him, of course apart from his fantastic kick offs and experience he offers nothing in artack, his defense is woeful and he can't even finish a game. Age is catching up with him and Taukafa is more than ready.

You are 100% correct. His kicking game is the best in the game however that is all he has. Way too slow and that means he is pretty useless in attack and defense.

A bit harsh but I am starting to feel a bit vindicated for criticising his signing. At the time I said it we would regret it as it would force us to lose a young star like Koro. We have lost Koro and we will regret it.

The problem with the Richards signing was that it was inconsistent with our youth policy. That policy means we wont be in contention for 2 years so why buy a player who only has two years in him and risk losing a young player.

At his age he is doing what i would expect but will not get any better. He was only ever a short term option until a younger player came along.Hopefully he retires at the end of the season.

Yeah lets replace him with another player with zero NRL experience…what have we got to lose..

Glad someone finally said it.

Havent rated him all year. He has bombed a few tries because he refuses to get low when going for the corner, he stays upright.

And if anyone should retire, it's Halatau. He has done nothing since returning.

Rubbish. Dene was close to our best last week in a beaten side.

I have to say I wouldnt have brought Dene back either. Puzzling decision.

He's used his one good game a year quota up, then.

I didn't mind us signing Richards, but I always thought a two year deal was strange. I was happy with a one year deal and that looks like it would have been wise now.

He has carried a groin injury for weeks and it probably didn't help the hammy

He has done far more good than harm this season

For me Pat has been one of the high lights of the season , yes he is ageing but if the club was not such a stuff up he should of been rested and got over the groin .Up until then he was great put this down to a club that is an amateur organisation run by morons.looking forward to watching Pat caress that ball again next season.

How many games this season has Pats goal kicking won us tight games alone ??

His goalkicking % this season would be higher than any other season in my opinion

Argument over

Richards was constantly amongst our best in the backs in the first half of the season, even without the kicking.

He is carrying some niggles and yet keeps playing, likely due to the fact we have blown through our 2nd tier cap again and can't just pick younger players willy nilly.

So no, its not time for Richards to retire. It is time for the fickle nature of some fans to take a week off.

Hahaha. You haven't watched much of him have you?

He is raw, needs another full offseason and help with decision making. Nowhere near ready.

he was considered one of the best buys of the season by any club and was in origin contention a month or two ago.

now that he's battling injury you guys are more than happy to jump on the back of someone who has had nothing to do with out poor performances in the last month. you know what has? INJURY, youth and a lack of consistency in the team week to week, which all go together really.

But dont worry, i know how to fix that, let's drop a player with 200 games experience and debut another bloke with 0 games. Oh, and and cop a hefty fine/competition points for breaching the 2nd tier cap.

Some of you guys have issues. Some of you have to much time up your sleeves. Let me put it simple, you don't go looking for a Ferrari when the bank approves you $35k to buy a car, or do you. We all knew what the signing meant at the time, but it was sugarcoated by bring back a player who was there in 05, scoring a try with a broken leg. Someone who won man of steel. Someone that topped the point scoring in the ESL more than once.
Fact. He came cheap. He was never inline for origin. He is past his best. He was mainly bought for his boot and that he has delivered.
