If Benji stays in the NRL

That will depend on what he told the club, the real reason he wanted the release.

If he said he has no intention of remaining in league and wanted to try and play union, but turned around and signed for Panthers/Dragons etc we should be pretty PO'd.

If he just said he wanted out, and we agreed, then no drama. Free man so to speak.

Even after his comments about never playing against the Tigers LaT

I sometimes think that people forget Benji is the true king of spin

He'd give Warnie a run for his money

Not that we will ever find out the truth either way , but I think Humpty has a lot of the answers

To be honest I wouldn't be upset if he joined another NRL side , would be interesting to see what another clubs fans thought of his signature

Thats what I chalk it up to, spin. Just media speak to put to bed rumours about him being chased by other clubs over the years. Although I don't doubt that at one point he probably did really feel that way about the club, things change.

Personally I think he does want to try something else, we've all been there I guess (although not on his salary).

I highly doubt it… The club would need to put some safe guards into place to appease the sponsors.

I'd suggest any release from his contract will be conditional of not playing NRL until 2016.

The ball is now in our court to put an end to the media running away with this!

Nothing would surprise me cause Tauber is a dirty dog.Apparently the Dragons are throwing bucket loads at him. I could not look at Benji again if he did that. I just finished explaining to 3 kids who are growing up in a Wests mad house that their hero wants to try another game.Wouldnt be nice but…...

Wouldnt believe the rumour, where would Benji fit in?

1\. Dugan
6\. Widdop
7\. Williams
9\. Rein

Unless they don't re-sign Dugan he won't fit in.

Let him play what and where he chooses, NRL or not.

Most that regularly post on here should not care anyhow, as they have been posting about his deficiencies and wanting him gone for some time now.

Would you be happy if the vitriol towards him, particularly on sites such as this was directed at your kids. Don't let your kids be affected, by telling them to treasure the happy memories.

If The Dragons want to sign him and Marshall is up for it a $1.5 million transfer fee would be required by the club to release him .

If he is granted a release, surely it will be conditional to not playing in the NRL.

He'll go to Rugby I reckon.

Benji has stated that he will not be playing for another NRL club. End of story.

He also stated more than anything he wanted to stay a Tiger for life

Spin ,spin and more spin Col

I don't see him going back on this though. Even when he's clearly been at odds with the club he's been pretty rock solid on this. Anyway he clearly needs something different than the NRL. Whether that's Super 15, rubby sevens or European handball is up to Benji and Tauber to work out.
