If Farah leaves...

Does robbie look like he has already made up he's mind, and has signed with para. He is not a happy camper, you watch the game and aftermatch interview he never smiled or was happy once, if so get rid of him now, pride is everything in a team and if he is not a team player it's time to go, don't get me wrong I would love to have him there for life, but robbie get some pride in your jumper man, it looks like your not happy?? :smiling_imp: :imp:

I have no inside knowledge but I get the feeling Farah may be leaving, but to suggest he should be sent packing is madness. Farah is one he'll of a competitive player,he would give a 100% in any game for any team.It would be a real shame if he was to leave, but the old story is vey true, as was door closes another one opens

He was interviewed on the sports section of the News(9?) about a week ago, very prickly short responses to questions, basically he said his manager is handling negotiations and he wanted it sorted ASAP.I missed the start of the interview but i was told he made no attempt to say he was staying,i have also heard that the Tigers want it sorted before the comp. starts so lets hope he stays or its going to be a long uncomfortable season for all.

yeah I've noticed similar things in recent interviews, no mention of loving the club and wanting to stay or anything

has me worries a bit

A daily Telegraph sports journo reckons he is going - heard this from his mouth, not in print! I do believe he has a link to Robbie, having covered his personal stories last year. However I noticed this journo has a Dragons tattoo on his back (was at the beach this summer) … And we all know how much that mob like to upset the Tigers AppleCart! Anyhow a Parra was supposedly the destination of his journey, with Sticky Stuart the link!

Maybe this is why Farah is so grumpy,he was promised all these signings to join him at Parra when he supposedly signed and one by one they all rejected the Eels, leaving him as last man standing.
If he has signed with the Eels then at the very least he should be releived of the captains job.

If Robbie had signed with Parramatta then they would have announced it like they did Pappali to entice others there. Just like if he had resigned with Wests Tigers we would announce it.

If he is going ? fine announce it late in the year … Don't need to know now before a ball has been kicked off for the year and wreck looking forward to the footy...

Maybe nobody knows.
I'm nervous, like I'm sure every Tigers supporter is. Part of me thinks he would be a tiger for life but in this day and age, other factors are so important and we don't know Robbie's situation…

I just wish we knew more.... Wouldn't it be perfect for it to be announced , his contract extension that is, leading into round 1...or soon after.

The fact it doesn't look likely , does this make it more likely he is leaving.. ? On one hand I don't wanna know if he was leaving since he's our captain and heart and soul of the club .. Imagine knowing most of the year that he is leaving... But, other side, I think I'd just wanna know so we can move forward... So if he has decided he is staying, wouldn't we get wind of this and therefore have more solid word... Thus, I'm fearing the worst as this drags on..

Can anyone with "real" inside info provide an update...? Or is everything pure speculation..

Just about everything on here is "pure speculation"….

If he leaves what i'm going to find interesting are the reasons he gives. When a player signs with a new club, in the press release they're always quoted saying something along the lines of ''i'm really looking forward to my time there, they're a team on the rise blah blah blah'', and they almost always mention how much their current club means to them. As the club captain people are going to want answers if he leaves, i know the board will have a lot to answer for but so will Robbie

Whats he going to say in the press release? something like ''I'm looking forward to my time with Parra, they are a club on the rise ( ) and am looking forward to working with Sticky''. Whats he going to say about the Tigers? something like ''I've been at the Tigers for 10 yrs, won a premiership and been captain for the last 5, but now i've just decided to leave''? I know its a small thing but one thing that makes me think he may stay is that there is nothing he could say that could justify him leaving, except if he's honest and says he couldn't turn down the money, which obviously would never happen

I know what you are saying gnr - interesting points.

That's just the thing –- if we are offering a lucrative contract extension which id imagine we are then you'd think he is staying... If we get anywhere near parra or other clubs offer then you'd think he'd only leave cause he simply wants out of tigers or a change of scenery -- it just seems unlikely since he's such a huge part of fabric of tigers and a club legend already.

Maybe it's all fine and it's purely the media and others making stuff up when really it's all fine...as in, he's definitely staying... Maybe just a matter of getting his value $ on new deal..

Lets hope so... Champion bloke and champion player.

Farah put on a big show last contract with his visit to the Gold Coast and public musings about leaving. Possibly this is all part of the same theatre. Having said that, maybe he will go. But as someone who has experienced the big Wests exodus of 1980, Raudonikus, Boyd, Dorahy, Brown and I think O'Grady in one season and come out of it intact, I reckon life for the Wests Tigers will go on.

Mind you, as others have said, it will be a mighty uncomfortable 2013 season.

Yes it is… But I know one thing...he's know very unlikely to go to the Sharkiez!

And I just don't see how the Tigers wouldn't give him as much money as is required. There isn't a figure another club could offer than I wouldn't beat if I were WT management. It's Robbie Farah ffs. The bloke who beat the piss out of Anthony Watts just to satisfy the demons of Leichardt Oval.

I don't know what is holding up the process though. Maybe he is just trying to get as many big offers in as he can to push up his bargaining price.

If Farah leaves, the sun will still rise and set.

I trust the WT are putting together a competitive offer. Farah would be mad not to employ every trick in the book to beef up the asking price on what looks to be his last contract.
