If Moltzen needs to be halfback, who plays fullback!?

It's poll time.

I'm unaware of whether Mullaney is ready for first grade, but we need Moltzen in the team and not defending at fullback so he shouldn't wear the 1\. Lui has done alright but Moltzen is more valuable and he needs to be moved out of the fullback position, so Lui should be put back in NYC for now in my opinion.

I would move Lawrence to fullback, Ryan to centre and bring in Pritchard on the wing.

id go with tuqiri, runs the ball back hard and is hard to stop. i also like him on the wing as well so its a hard decision

I would personally narrow it down to Tuqiri or Lawrence…

Defensively Tuqiri would worry me at the back, he is excellent under the high ball but his one on one defence is suspect and his positional play might be poor at the moment while he is still re-adapting to modern rugby league...

Lawrence's one on one defence has improved immensley and he has great speed to cover kicks and his kick returns could be absolutely DEADLY...

Therefore my vote goes to Lawrence and my backline would be (without injuries):

1\. Lawrence
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Ryan
5\. Tuiaki
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

1 meany
2 ryan
3 ayshford
4 lawrence
5 tuquri
6 marshall
7 moltzen

or

1 tuquiri
2 ryan
3 ayshford
4 lawrence
5 tuaki
6 marshall
7 moltzen

or

1 tuquiri
2 tuaki
3 ayshford
4 marshall
5 ryan
6 lawrence
7 moltzen

I think Sheens could throw Lote there pretty quickly. He looked pretty good in the back today, running a few balls back to the line. The guy has safe hands, pace, size and a good vertical leap.

The only hesitation would be the combo's that Benji/Robbie/Moltz have built up. If there is an easy way to get Tuqiri up to speed, then Sheens should move quickly.

Beau and Fitz on the wings until Tui gets back.

i have always liked the idea of Lawrence at fullback but I dont think it is going to happen.

So have i. If we can find a centre that can defend as well as him then i'd go for it, otherwise i think we'd miss his defence too much.

I'd give Ryan a go next week. He could be a smokey. I can picture him being a Shifcofske type fullback but with a better ability to hit a hole. Beau is surprisingly good at hitting holes and may just be what we need. I think it would be worth a try next week with Moltzen at 7.

Tuqiri or Fitzy - I voted for Lote but I think Fitzy would probably suit the team really well too mayby giving lote some more time to find his feet

The best way is to think of it from an opposition's point of view, who would you least want returning your kick, Lawrence or Moltzen??

I'd rather have to deal with Moltzen any day.

That is EXACTLY what I'd do. In the mean time Pritchard or Fitzhenry for Tuiaki.

imo it should read

1.Taumata
2.tuqiri
3.ayshford
4.Lawrence
5.Ryan
6.Benji
7.moltzen

and while im at it the forward pack should be
8.gibbs
9.farah
10.galloway
11.fulton
12.ellis
13.heighnignton
14.fifita
15.moors
16.cayless
17.fitzhenry

Tuqiri or Lawrence.

They are both big, strong and fast and would be real good running it back. Personally I think Tuqiri is the best option as he is used to defusing bombs and grubbers. That plus Lawrence in the centres is pretty solid defensively (excluding the one lapse today).

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Fitzy
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Benji
7\. Moltzen

Lawrence himself says he doesn't have the motor to play fullback anymore….leave him in the centres....

As for Fullback there can be only 1..........Lortay Tuqiri.....
