Tigersmurf dragons have Dean Young usually he's not too bad a player (picked for Australian squad )

Have you or TS heard of Nathan Fien??????

NZ international hooker…...

Nathan Fein is a class player. He should be credited with the World Cup & Four Nations Trophy just as much as Benji. Without Nathan, I highly doubt NZ would of won both these tournaments…

If Kiwis were at full strength Fien would not even make their squad in my opinion . Here's a question then. If you could have either at Tigers who would you have (not at hooker in any position )????

Definitely Fien (as back-up to both Robbie's)!!

Young has chronic knee injuries & we have many far superior back-rowers of our own!!

Also - how are the Kiwis not at full strength?? Who has been missing in both the World Cup & Four Nations that opened up a spot for Fien???

Fien even gets the start for them ahead of a star in Isaac Luke!!

Heaps of blokes in England that Kiwis don't recall Brent Webb for one Ropati another Hohaia Webb at full back Hohaia at hooker better options than Fien . Meant starting side(sorry) Fien would be fine off bench there are so many better hookers in comp I would have Luke at halfback Benji five eight

Ropati & Hohaia are still at the Warriors mate!

Hohaia is the incumbent Test fullback & has played hooker once!!!

They do take players from the UK - have you seen Thomas Leuluai interchange between hooker & half with Fien in both the World Cup & 4 Nations brother???

Webb is way past his prime & is a Murri boy from Cairns who only gained qualification for NZ by playing at the Warriors for over three years!!

If you would choose Luke at halfback for Tests - why wouldn't Souths do the same given they only have that midget dish-rag named Sandow???

Your last post regarding what the Tigers would do though is spot on buddy! Although - it would also mean the likes of young Politoni or Parata would be needed for a bench spot to liven up our dummy-half work late in the game!!

How about Mullaney ??? totally agree about souths Why have all that talent around them and no consistent 6 and 7 they won't make eight for that reason no matter how good forward pack is

Try 30 red sorry bout that

In regards to what mate?

Brent Webb's age?

Hohaia's games at hooker (1 for NZ + 11 for the Warriors by my understanding)?

Just seeking clarification!

As for Mullaney - keep him at fullback & he will be a star!!! He looks to have put some bulk on & despite his stature - in 1-2 years he could be very special!!

Agree, I rate Fein as more of a halfback than a hooker. He also got the Cowboys within a game of the grand final the year before Thurston joined them. Nowdays though I don't think he controls the game at halfback like the better halfbacks do, but he can be a good foil for a gun 5/8 as he doesn't overplay his hand. Hence why him and Benji make a good combo. If you plonked him at halfback and had someone like Travis Burns at 5/8 he'd struggle.

If we didn't have Benji, my first choice for 5/8 (from the entire comp) would be Chris Lawrence. :righton: :righton: :righton:

I get the feeling that Chris will become a lock or five eight in future much the same way Anasta is at Roosters , but at the moment I would leave him centres .He gets more room to move in centres and more time to make decisions . Moltzen is more used to playmaker role .
