Hows he a cancer exactly?
@alexaki said:At least Smith would have a head start as he has done a thorough review of the joint and **_he would know what's needed before he joins_**… Smith can't be worse that what's available

Bring in Griffin ex Broncos coach and let HIM select his support team.
@Cultured Bogan said:I don't know how anyone is holding Brian Smith personally accountable for this whole mess.
Smith was approached and commissioned by the club to provide a report covering the football operations. He did as such and provided the report. It sounds like people within the club leaked details of the report to the media and as such it has helped drive the agenda against Potter.
I'm hardly a staunch backer of Smith, but he was asked to a job and he did it. I would hazard a guess that the report was meant to be confidential and while he might be looking to get a start somewhere still, he'd hardly do himself any favours by leaking the details himself as it would most likely get back to him.
On Smith, he'd be good for a cleanout of the playing group, but I don't see the major issues at the club being focused around the roster, **moreso the key staff in the football operations (strength & conditioning in particular.)**

He'd clear the decks and bring in his own people in that department as well don't you worry.

I agree with Lat this is more.front office than player person ell priblem
@NT Tiger said:I think it is ridiculous even debating this. Potter has done enough to gain an extension when all outside factors are considered.
Surely anyone who is reading other current posts is becoming aware of where the problems at the club really sit, and It aint Potter. It is apparent to me that once the board s fixed (if it can be) and the business is allowed to run without constant interference, there should be a stable environment in which Potter can do his job.
Add to that, the dawning awareness that the quality of our strength and conditioning staff is probably contributing to the amount of time top players are spending on the bench, (therefore affecting the team's and Potter's chance of success) and I think we start to realise what this man has been up against.
Getting rid of Potter will not even begin to fix the problems at Wests Tigers. Unless they are fixed first, there is no point hiring another coach, so the debate is useless.
