If you had to pick two wingers.

Who would you pick? Options are Utai, Tuquiri, Ryan and Koroibete.

Tough call and controversial, but I stick with Utai and Koroibete.

Utai is really good at scoots and hit ups at end , however I feel more confident with ryan outside ashford in defense ..
And Koriobete showed again tonight why he will be known as the best winger in the comp by the end of next year

I think the tougher propostion is who misses out from the following:

Tedesco, Moltzen, Utai, Ryan, Koroibete, Lawrence, Ayshford. Seven players for five spots.

4\. Rowdy
5\. Koro

6\. Siro Jr
7\. Benji

14\. Moltzen

(Ayshford = Punted)

I'm with you 2-5
1 for me would be moltzen, he is coming good.
6 would be Marshall
7 would be preferably a number 7.

~ 2013 ~

1\. Tedesco
2\. Ryan / Utai
3\. Nofoluma
4\. Lawrence
5\. Koro

6\. Benji
7\. Moltzen
\
\
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Fulton
12\. Bell
13\. Anasta

14\. Blair
15\. Pettybourne
16\. Moors
17\. Fotuiaki

2 wingers then at this stage Utai and Ryan but I'm torn because despite a few errors koriobete has so much potential. I think next yr though Ryan will be centre or Utai will be reserve grade or not re-signed
Tedesco
Ryan
Ayshford
Lawrence
Koriobete
Sironen
Marshall

Thinking the same thing last night, beau has been our best player all year playing on the wing which is his best position, however Utai is a bull and really gets us going forward and of course the new kid on the block who is just tearing shreads atm. We can't keep playing beau in the centres he's ineffective there.

Our two best wingers this season have been Koro and Utai. Ryan was great as well but Utai has been better and Koro looks unstoppable although he has a few mistakes in his game.

At one point last night they were just looking for Koro to bust the line.

Ryan has been fantastic for us but does he deserve a spot in the squad ? I can only see a spot for him in the centres.

If we are talking about next year.

1\. Tedesco (If he comes back well)
2\. Koroibete
3\. Moltzen (Happy to try him there as he's played ok there in the past…. But I do acknowledge it could be a EPIC fail)
4\. Lawrence
5\. Utai/Ryan
6\. Sironen
7\. Marshall

14.Ryan/Utai

I feel like I'm just picking Ryan for the sake of it as you have to pick him. Although Ryan starting, and Utai as an impact bench player has more benefit. But, Utai deserves to start atm.

Next Year i would have Ryan on one wing & Koro on the other with Moltzen in number 1 to start the year off & Utai on the bench. Lawrence & Ayshford in the centres as i wouldnt get rid of Ayshford as some have suggested.

Ayshford does the dirty work every week, no space to move, players all over him and he still manages to make metres looking for off loads whilst dragging 2 or 3 defenders along. He is a great player with great strength and very under rated by armchair critics who continue to pick isolated incidents in games to make hero's or villians out of players. Watch his game closely. We are a better team with him in. Go Weststigers!

Ryan to fullback, although Simona played very well there last night. Moltzen must be out of this team at once. Ayshford playing crap.

Thompson can play centre, Ryan can play anywhere. Utai should be off the bench as he can play back or forward.

Anasta can play 5/8 or lock and is a very good kicker of goals and field goals. To say nothing of his ability as a player.

Lots of options in our backline. However I would urge the "need for speed" in making the selections.

Tons of forwards. Woods, Groat, BMM, Big Red, Fulton, Heino, Bell, Anasta, Pettybourne, Thompson.

Taking all the above players available, I believe that you cannot win a comp without a "proper" halback. That is one of our biggest problems. The reason for this is squarely on the shoulders of Sheens.

I would keep Ayshford. A lot of his good work goes unseen. Has everyone forgotten the tackle bust and the pass to Benji to score?

I am a huge Moltzen fan but I see him making the most impact from 14.

1.Teddy
2\. Utai
3\. Ayshford/Ryan
4\. Rowdy
5\. Koro

So the one one to miss out is Ryan or Blake… No doubt Ryan has improved incredibly, if he can have the same improvement into next year than his spot is non-negotiable. But Blake does the dirty work each week no doubt, and it's the stuff that's unseen, but in saying that he also misses tackles and sometimes looks uninterested.
Then you have to consider Ryan's best position is the wing, but Utai and Koro make the most metres and impact there.
By next year I expect Koro to have polished alot of his game. SO then Ryan would most likely play centre which arguably, Blake plays better there than him.

The off-season will tell who makes the cut.

Simple: Benji and Anasta in the halves. Sironen will grow which then allows Anasta to play lock. Moltzen as utility bench player to also play half. No one knows if he is a "proper" half because he's played 1 game there in 2012 and after playing in the halves all junior football and in the off-season I would expect that he would go very well there.
We will see next season, Go Tigers!
