I'm a Potter fan, but....

Imo people are being harsh on austin. He spent the off season losing weight and training at 5/8.

Its harsh to judge him at playing 9 because Potter has told him to run forest…(mentioned in a recent tigers tv interview)

Anasta was garbage as usual. Apologies in advance to his supporters.

As i posted in the team announcement thread there was a touch of Sheenius about the team so the coach deserves big pressure from the result, but ultimately there were some critical errors from the senior players.(one of which should be dropped imo.)

I think Austin has great potential but the longer he was on the field tonight the more he reminded me of Benji.
Trying to dictate every play, hogging the ball and making mistakes- sound familiar?
He still needs to learn when to pull his head in.

I am not a Potter fan…Didn't rate him from day one.
When he opened his mouth and said he wasn't here to be liked by the players I knew we were in trouble.

Thank you Mr Webster Mr Payten and Mr Kidwell who knows what mess we would be in without you guys.

I'd say two things about Austin:

1) He's had, what, 2 games starting 5/8th? How can a player develop a more consistent game when he's shuffled around from hooker to 5/8 every second week?

2) He's one of the few guys who threatens the opposition. Sure he's got a mistake in him, but I've already watched Anasta drop 10 sitters and put 5 kicks into opponents backs in 14 rounds.

Got to laugh at the people who like to pull apart Austin's game. A few of them are the ones that were telling mr Braith was an integral part of the side earlier in the year so I can see why they get defensive. They will take evry opportunity to bag anything small Austin does wrong in his time out there.

Austin is playing at Hooker FFS. A position he has never played is his life. Of course he is going to make rookie errors. I would love to see that cat Anasta in at hooker and see how his defence is. Austin does overplay his hand, however how many times has he come on this season with the team on a big fat DUCKEGG after 35 minutes. He scored an individual try again in a position he is totally unfamilar..

Just quit the garbage selections. Pick him or Moses at 6 for the rest of the year and stop hedging out bets so we dont upset poor BRAIIIFFFFF

Especially given Austin left the Panthers because they were unable to define his role. He didn't know whether to hit the gym and pack weight on as a back rower, or work on his running and passing game in the halves. The Tigers offered him a firm gig as a half.

Halfway through the season and he's played just about every position on the park, sometimes in the same match.

My concern is his passing game ,which needs to be good whether he plays 6,7 or 9

He just doesn't seem to have soft hands

Whatever. I know he is not a world beater however our current number 6 is a laughing stock. Other clubs are laughing at us playing this guy. 1 try assist for the year. His errors double his try and line break assists, its just pathetic. Anasta costs us at least 6 points a game. I couldn't care less about Austin having hard hands if it means getting rid of that deadweight wearing number 6.

Whatever :wtf

I'm not supporting Anasta at all ,I've supported Rowdy , but if he was to repeat that v the Raiders something would have to give

I made a comment in regards to one of the most important things someone needs as a half or a dummy half

The problem we have is every person we could possibly put in the 6 jersey is flawed in some way

What the hell , lets just stick Moses in there before he is ready , defend him on the wing like Sheens used to do and completely screw things up

The one thing we should have learnt by now is we can't put blokes in positions before they are ready

This forum is a joke lol

Potter has single handly turned us into a respectable team that has a forward pack that people take seriously.
We are supposed to have the wooden spoon and people are still not happy it blows my mind.

Rowdy is struggling for sure but there must be something that coach sees to keep persevering.
Anaster is our best choice 5/8 for now he brings a settled approach when we need it. is he the long term def not but he is by far the right option at the moment. Moses isnt ready yet and austin is fools gold.

We are doing amazing and potter has designed the team to work the way it is in the coach i trust.

I have never been as proud to follow the boys as i am now theres a mateship and alot of heart there something we have never had.

Lawrence is abysmal, Anasta isn't even NSW Cup material. Who is to say Moses isn't ready? He is killing it in NYC and NSW Cup as is Koro who just can't seem to get a crack. Open your eyes and see past the duds in our team. Experience - quite evidently is not everything. Our captain and our vice captain last night were our two worst players and have been quite consistently for the last 2 years - especially Braith. And to think he is being paid good money for this.

Righto mate your opinion but koro has been missing defensive assignments in nsw cup he isnt up to standard defensively.

You remember how bad we were last year yeah well we are winning and improving so show some faith in your coach and what he is doing instead of raggin on players that bleed for us every week.

You cant fault any of our players commitment at the moment and thats all i ask for pride in the jumper. But hey potter hasnt coached much well definately not to your level id assume drop your resume in.

If Austin had a regular opportunity at 6 he'd be a gun. If memory serves, his try against the Rabbits isn't the first he's scored this season for us and he's had bugger all time on the field. And when he has had a run, it's been in whatever position is required. At least he shows eagerness to get amongst things. more than Anasta has been and Lawrence. As for Luani…..he aint the answer for a missing Farah.
But as for Potter, he must only be thinking of experience guys among the youth for this season. Sacrifice the season in the hope of a big one to follow. These guys are not performing - obviously. Wish I knew why he doesn't ditch them.

anasta and austin are 2014 bridge players until potter believes moses is ready.
moses is the only player i have seen show ability to square his shoulders inside the 20.
even brooks is too side to side in his passing game and rarely goes into the hit zone unless he intends on running it.

i don't see the point in this discussion every week.
good for rep point accumulation though.

the 4 teams i follow have players i wouldn't pick that have excellent coaches and success.
it's a mystery i will never solve and it will be no different with potter.
