The NRL are opening Pandoras box here,i expect even more faking injuries from certain teams to gain an advantage(parra especially).

Either that or blokes like Packer will stop crushing the necks of players. If there's no flopping or dropping your weight onto someone's neck then they can't milk.

This is like suggesting you can milk a spear tackle.

There’s plenty of ways to milk a crusher penalty. If you get defenders standing and putting their weight on you then you drop down, sometimes the defender will fall on top it happens. It doesn’t hurt the bloke and he gets a free penalty.

I’d argue we see MORE crusher type penalties since the rule was implemented compared to before the rule existed

Defenders are trying to get the player on his back onto the ground, putting him into that position. Its a terrible result of wrestling which everyone wants out of the game.

This is now a joke.

If there is a penalty awarded or the offender put on report.

Then the victim should be off for a 15 minute assessment.

For all foul play? If you cop a forearm in the head do you have to go off for 15 mins aswell?

I agree with what you are saying but the reason we are seeing it so much is that the ball runner turns and backs into the defence. No one wants to see these crusher tackles but the defender is only one element to it

I am talking about people faking injury which i believe is already happening in a minority of cases.Packers tackle is completely irrelevant to players using gamesmanship to their advantage

I didn't hear the outrage when Nofo held his neck after a crusher, got a penalty and played on. Weird.

Aaron Woods' value suddenly skyrocketed.

"Backing into the defensive line is now encouraged? That sounds like my music!"

Nah still needs to do more

Mandatory HIA for crushers. Free interchange if player cannot return. If player returns to the game it gets counted as an interchange. That'll weed out milking.

The biggest scourge on our game is MILKING and with the crack down on the crusher tackle it is only going to get worse the NRL should immediately introduce that if a player claims he has a crusher performed on him he has to go off for 15 minutes for an assessment this would greatly lessen the number of false claims.
The second biggest blight on our game is the players appealing for penalties at every opportunity this should be stamped out by the awarding of penalties referees have the ability to referee games with out player assistance

Yep
Like when Sivo complained about a crusher last night against Melbourne
He got the penalty but plays on
I switched off not long after
Its one of the reasons I don't watch soccer
I can't stand the Milking

Yeah.
Sivo and Nathan Brown seem to have it down pat now.

Thats the thing its always the same blokes getting "crushed" and yet funnily enough different defenders and teams committing the alleged offence.

Gutherson will pull one out when Parra are under pressure on their defensive line.

The eels down the same thing when we played them , it will now get worse , teams will now just stay down holding there head and claiming a penalty. The nrl have made a rod for there own back , maybe if u claim a crusher u have to leave the field for 5 min with no replacement , see now many go down then , because they all bounce up as soon as they get the penalty.

I hope anyone doubting that players can milk crushers watched eels last night. Disgraceful and the NRL has encouraged it by giving defenders more of a punishment

That was farcical last night. The refs need to wake up and use common sense. Once a player is turned around, all he has to do is drop. What’s the defender supposed to do? It’s like when a player falls into a swinging arm that would have otherwise hit his chest. It’s a blight on the game.

100% forgot about Gutho.
Always good to pull one off to get a Slimey penalty.
Really liked Gutho as a player and then he got the captaincy and turned into a whining piece of excrement.

Hopefully NRL will look at the eels methods

I agree with bellyache but can storm really be angry at a team for bending the rules. Storm have been bending the rules for a decade now 😂
