Improve the damn "D"

All I want is to have really good, consistent defense. Our D has been close to awful in most games this year, especially on our goal line. When I read that we had concentrated on our D in the off season I was very happy but seeing our games so far I notice that nothing has changed.

nothing personal…but

When did defence become D. It makes me be sick in my mouth every time i hear it.

It is second only to 'grinding out a win'.

personally that's the most disappointing thing about being a weststigers supporter although they have been a very entertaining team to follow, there defense has let them down unlike the dragons the storm & Brisbane who consistently have solid defense I am another one who hates the term D just another Americanism creeping in to our vocabulary .

What is the big issue if the guy used D as a shortened version You understood what he meant so leave it at that . Personally don't like it when people who know what an abbreviation is getting at and then have to say something about it Ok Sorry Okay

Having a 100% fit Fulton a 100% fit Ellis and a 100% fit Payten will harden our defence up big time

That`s true, but why Gibbs & Payten only decide to run the football hard & aggressively once in every 4-5 games i`ll never know & why Fulton (one of my favourites) only decides to run & tackle with aggression once in every 3-4 games i`ll never know either.
IF Liam Fulton & Bryce Gibbs played hard & aggressive in attack and defence every week they`d both be playing for NSW, yet they only choose to sporadically and because of this are lucky to be in the starting line up let alone play for NSW.
Not knocking their work rates, that is always good, but a big difference from having a high work rate to playing aggressively with a high work rate.

I'm guessing why Fulton only runs hard once every 5 games is because he has been out injured for 6 weeks . Bryce is still getting over a knee cap injury Payten has injury concerns . if you look at our probable starting side in the forwards only one has been uninjured and that is Heighington so give our forwards a couple of weeks to get back to best form

Another aspect of our game which has never been fixed under Sheens.

We defend like heroes in one game, only to defend like U12s in the next two games.

Probably because they know that once the other side gets down there end and puts up a high ball that all of the good work will go to waste when the fullback won't even try and make a play on the ball I have rarely seen a team bundle drop like it did once Moltzen left that bomb bounce vs Titans

agree. and my only concern about re-signing sheens. this never seems to get any better!
maybe we can have folkes spend more time coaching defence?
