In doubt..

Could Moltzen also be in serious doubt to take on the Sowboys? With Ayshford likely being out for the next 4-6weeks, it's time for the next young gun to step up to the plate!!

gee moltz looks MUCH bigger than lazzo

Well Moltz is in his 2nd year of the top grade and Lazarus has had 2 years off playing.
But don't be fooled by that picture…

Moltzen seemed to get a very close going over by the physio just after the drill that these photos illustrate (possibly neck back region but not real sure). It looked like it was almost a last minute fitness test. After that Lazarus seemed to move more into a support role in the drills rather than a warmup for the game role.

Lazarus looked nervous during the pictured drill and a lot of his short kicks were a bit misdirected.
Later on though he put up a spiral bomb that just about bought snow. It was massive.

I watched the game yesterday, Moltz must have been injured.

It was a very poor performance. The Jeff Robson comparison I made was unfair - to Jeff Robson.

Most of Moltzen's passes, there wasnt many because he didnt touch the ball much, to Benji were a metre above Benji's head. If people can give that performance a pass mark, how can they ever crticise Fitzy?

You criticise Fitzy (rightly so) so why arent I allowed to criticise Tim when I think he played busted. He had a very poor game from my perspective.

I still support him as our number 7 (although not as much as before I watched the game) but he has to improve the quality of his passing to Marshall.

Moltzen is playing very much like Robson, Ben Kusto et all at the moment. He needs to lift and is capable of doing so.

park footballer … funny you should say that as that was honestly the expression that came to mind when I watched Tim's performance yesterday. He drifts in and out of games like a park footballer.

I am probably being a bit harsh but he didnt play well. He is a better player than his last two performances suggest.

I think the Moltzen at halfback winning streak thing is more of a testament to not having him at fullback than him as a halfback. Every time he hasn't been halfback he's been our fullback.

Did that expression also come to mind when you were criticising him in the game thread, but without watching the game?

Nope. My concern during the game thread was that I wasnt hearing his name mentioned at all. Based on how he performed against Parra I was concerned, rightly so after reviewing the video, that he wasnt getting involved enough.

After watching the video I also noticed his passing to Marshall was poor. Check the 52s of the game. Moltzen throws a shocking pass to Marshall about a metre above his head. Also, the pass Marshall dropped in the middle of the game, who threw it - you guessed right, our Timmy. Once again it was a metre above the bread basket. Our outside backs should expect crisp passing from our number 7.

I like Tim and think he should be our number 7 for the timebeing but he hasnt been playing well at all.

It would be interesting to know if he is carrying an injury, as his form is a below what I expect of a player with his talent. Hopefully its only minor if he has one.

I guess the only positive if injured would be I would finally get to see lazarus play, to see if he is as good as many say.

Criticising him is one thing, but comparing him to Jeff Robson is an insult.

Robson is a park football player at best.

yeah,i have to agree

a bit below the belt.actually i should say well below the belt
moltzen did actually do some good things in the game.
has robson ever?

Yeh your probably right guys. Moltzen threw a couple of nice passes I guess. One pass to Ellis was quite neat. I guess we should also applaud him for the catch and pass to Ryan like Ron did.

Robson is a poor footballer no doubt and shouldnt tie Tim's bootlaces.

I guess I just expect more from Tim Moltzen and think he has got away fairly lightly on this forum in terms of analysis of how he plays.

if lazarus is half as good as some people reckon on this forum, he's the next dally messenger!

Have to agree with you southern tiger. I have said before on here that i think Moltz is a good football player but i am yet to be sold on a position that suits him.. He is an ok half without being great and an ordinary fullback..I dont know if he is injured or not but he seems to be really struggling this year and out of sorts a bit.. Hope he comes good.

He's treated lightly because one or two mixed games early in the year don't undo all the fantastic ones he has had.
