Incredible story of the ‘05 Tigers, the unlikeliest premiers of all

It's definitely the fairytale season in the NRL at present, but no team has won without deserving it. Re-living this can extract some key points:

- Let the culture build itself
- Exciting kids, key recruits (many were injured prior to WT) and a few experienced old heads
- The coach is a cornerstone
- Year together to gel and progress as a team
- Stick to basics, plans and systems
- Nothing to lose… high risk, high reward
- "Clicking"
- Enjoying the run and taking each game for what it is
- Satisfaction is the enemy of progress
- True champions handle favouritism

Very similar to the likes of Roosters, Souths, NQ and Cronulla last 4 years. Tigers have a good young side, a lot of those players aren't so "inexperienced" anymore, the signs were there in 2016 but again, the team wasn't up to the task when the pressure was on.

If I have any other tip aside from our boys for a fairytale premiership in 2017 it will be virgin Warriors or Titans... or Canberra or Penrith. Of those 5, I think 1-3 will make a real good tilt into the finals and potentially take out the competition.

P.S. I can't seem to stay logged in, this is very annoying, yeah I know I'm new and green but does anyone else have this problem?

When you log in there is a little box to tick that says …Remember Me...tick that and it should log you straight in when you return to the forum...

Thanks guys - been using shared computers and stuff

Loved reading it, but what a hack piece of supposed journalism. Was basically a copy and paste of various quotes from the playing squad that have been written or reported elsewhere in the past.
I am happy that some of that squads elders (Hodgson, Skando, Galea, O'Neill) were able to win a premiership.
One key point was the suggestion that after that, some of the younger players rested on their laurels and seemed to think that it was a matter of time before it happened again.

It will be great to win the comp as highly expected short priced favourites one day…. Then and only then might 05 be well and truly consigned to history

I still stick the knife in with my Mrs with the 150-1 odds after the Brisbane loss

:roll

Always handy after a bad day on the pony's

In this case I should of just ignored the whopper :roll

I have a few of those stories as well , losing a 1 metre barra at my feet and then trying to crash tackle it and getting 9 stitches in my leg hitting the same submerged rock that the Barra had cut the line on :bawling :bawling :bawling
