World All Stars team changes

Jarrod Croker (Canberra Raiders), Chris McQueen (Gold Coast Titans) and Gerard Beale (Cronulla Sharks) have been called into the World All Stars squad ahead of the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars.

The trio will replace Joseph Leilua, Jarryd Hayne and Sosaia Feki, who have been ruled out of the match through injury.

The men's and women's All Stars matches will be played at McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle, on Friday 10 February.

Pretty sure happy wanted Mitch in the 9's then All Stars and back up for the Illawarra trial the next day….

Indigenous side should win this easy. Turning into a bit of a joke this game with only the Indigenous guys taking it serious. The all stars team is pretty light on for stars.

TBH it is basically just a charity match for the benefit of the Indigenous people to score a staged win and celebrate their culture blah blah. It is the NRL's version of a Harlem Globetrotter's game…..the other side are not supposed to win.

I'd like to change the format of the Nines to an International Nines, including teams from the UK, Qld Cup, Pacific Island, & CRL to play against the NRL Teams.

Why dont they merge the Indigenous All Stars with the Nines and allow the indigenous boys play as a team in this tournament?

It will be over in one weekend, then the clubs would be more receptive to releasing players?

Surely then the game becomes even more marketable and worth more $$$'s to Fox and whichever FTA player gets the contract and then offer the extra to the players to get it over the line with RLPA ???

people whinging about the nines, well this is a game that should never be played what a waste of time and effort, so some indigenous people feel important.

It's a trivial token game that no one cares about. Utterly pointless. Actually trying to connect with Aboriginal communities and setting up a better system for scholarships and ongoing education would be far more effective.

Or have have the Aboriginals playing against the Maoris or PNG. An opponent that might have some pride in their performance.

Then have 1 x Origin game at the end of the season followed by internationals, larger squads to handle the workload, etc.

I'm all for respecting indigenous (& other) culture, but the game itself is a bit of a farce when only one side is going all in.

We always have the indigenous round to show respect & raise awareness.
