Inglis try or no try?

Definitetly no try. I had no issues with the ball and Farah's boot. It looked 50/50 as to weather Farah was playing at it or not but on closer inspection after it hits Farah's foot it then hits Inglis's arm again and bounces forward. Knock on, end of story!

NO TRY every day of the week.
Rorted tonight.
**Farah sensational, but why did Stuart replace him at such a critical time of the game and put a rookie backrower in his position, that was as bad as the Inglis try cal**l

Probably had Bozo the clown in his ear telling him to give the kid a run. Thankfully, he came to his senses quickly and replaced him after only a few minutes.

As for the try, it was probably the worst video ref decision I've ever seen and there's been plenty of bad ones.

no try

inglis placed it on farahs boot. BL inglis

and ps NSW were 10 times better then queensland tonight, so i wouldnt say competetive for 50 minutes.

If that happens anywhere else on the field, it is called a knock-on. End of story.

I don' enjoy losing as a Blues Fan, but to lose from that try made it feel more than usually bitter. He dropped the ball fair and square.

The only consolation, fulleighty, is that we didn't actually lose because of that try. QLD were already in front when they 'scored' it and I don't know if NSW would've scored again anyway - they certainly didn't look likely. Still, we'll never know.

Spot on Flip, i think that fact will get convieniently lost. You can feel like NSW were robbed with that decision to award the try, but you can't say they were robbed with the result as they were still behind and there were no gaurentees they would have scored the match winner

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a rule that you can't kick the ball out of a players hands. I think that's the point of contention - whether Robbie kicked the ball out of GI's hands or whether GI drops the ball onto Robbie's foot. In slow-mo, Robbie is running at GI and the ball hits his foot mid-stride. But there is a clear swivel of Robbie's foot towards the ball. What I can't remember is if the ball is already in the air when it strikes his foot.

But IF they rule that he played at the ball illegally, then it has to be an 8 point try. Either way, the refs got something wrong

Slow motion ruined it. Ive got three QLD mates with me watching it at normal speed, and they've all agreed it was a knock on…The slow motion has just proved Farah was watching the ball (isn't that a basic in league - keep your eyes on the ball) that's about it. He wasn't in the position to make a miraculous grounding of the ball, so he attempted to tackle the player and prevent a grounding. His foot was simply in the way. The slow motion is about 20x slower then real motion. Credit to the QLD's, we may not have got the points at 12-10 down, but to be decided on a ruling done in 3/4 speed is pretty rough. And a few replays at normal speed may have really changed that decision IMO.

That's a knock on any day of the year.

And if somehow the rulebook makes it a try, then change it. Horrible way to end what was a very good game.

**if robbie stuck his foot out on purpose… it's an 8 point try.**

if it was an accident, then a knock on, as simple as that.

what the ref did was totally wrong.

also, there is no way robbie did it on purpose, u can clearly see it in motion that inglis tried to do it quickly, and simply got hindered by robbie's foot.

For an 8 point try, you need to be fouled in the act of scoring the try, Inglis wasn't actually scoring the try when Farah stuck his foot out (the ball wasn't being grounded).

It was a try.End of story.lol…..

oh, so the video ref got the ENTIRE decision right?

No of course not. I do think Robbie played at the ball and he did so because he was desperate to stop the try. I also think that if some other players were around that play, then GI scores unimpeded. Thats why I felt sorry for Farah….It is his competitive nature that has me believing it was intentional.

This argument that QLD were ahead by 2 so it doesn't matter anyway is RIDICULOUS.

This occurred in the 73rd minute. A "No try" (the sane decision) gives NSW 7 minutes to have an OPPORTUNITY to win the game. They would have been fighting hard, playing expansively, I have no doubt they would have at least got into great field position, whether they would score or not, who knows.

Instead, it was awarded a Try (INSANE decision) which prevented NSW the opportunity. Knowing they were down by 8, they knew they couldn't win and you could see by the way the defended the next set that they were deflated.

NSW were robbed off the opportunity to win. I'd have been unhappy if we lost, but at least I'd feel like it was just. Instead, I just feel empty and annoyed that such a dumb decision is all this magnificent match will be remembered by,

On any other day this would be the biggest smartass QLD comment, but today this proved as a good belly wobbler. HAHA. Well done mate, well done.

It seems like the rules in league relating to knock-ons and controlling the ball are starting to mirror the attitudes in society where no one takes responsibility for their own actions. The onus should be on the ball carrier to secure it well enough so that these types of things don't happen. Robbie wasn't trying to kick the ball. GI just put it down on his foot and then lost it. KNOCK-ON. Stupid video ref killed what had been an intriguing, entertaining game.

If that try wasn't awarded we would have had an extra 3 minutes of game time AND possession. If we could've taken that last set to the 5th tackle, we were every chance of scoring.
