Injury Concerns for Wests Tigers

The latest word is that Farah, Woods and Lawrence will ALL be ruled out of the City side later today.

Hope so, woods should NOT be playing extra matches. He is still recovering from his knee issues. Dunno if he should even play origin if selected, although he'll probably recover by then.

I'm hoping that all three of em are filthy with the team and want to spend every day for 2 weeks making sure we smash the broncs away

Just heard that Robbie, woods, Lawrence all back for round 7, Buchanan has a fractured cheek bone and Anasta out until round 10 with a gtoin problem. Heard this on Talkin' sport.

Wests Tigers Injury Update

Wests Tigers utility Braith Anasta will miss four weeks with a groin injury sustained in the 13-12 Heritage Round loss the Dragons.

The Club’s Medical Staff assessed Anasta this morning, with the injury adding to the extensive casualty ward.

Robbie Farah, Chris Lawrence and Aaron Woods were all ruled out of the City Origin team but are expected to be back for the Round 7 clash with the Brisbane Broncos in two weeks.

Jack Buchanan (cheek) and Blake Ayshford (knee) were also injured in the bruising encounter at the Sydney Cricket Ground, but are likely to return in Round 7.

Winger Marika Koroibete is a chance to play at Campbelltown Sports Stadium next weekend, with his foot injury to be monitored over the next fortnight.

Maybe we should be looking at the way the players are being trained (fitness wise).

Every year seems the same. Injury after injury. Some other clubs seem to go through the whole season without any of their players being hurt.

I think most of this weeks are excuses for not playing for City - Farah, Woods, lawrence, Ayshford would all have played for Tigers or for Australia this weekend - which dissapoints me that they would pull out of city country - this was always one of my favourite games of the year growing up in the country

Put it this way - if you have a niggling injury, you play and risk aggravating, or you rest and strengthen.

Farah and Woods don't need the CvC game to be in SOO contention, and Lawrence was no chance anyway.

We definitely seem to get more injuries than most teams every single year (except in '05). There needs to be a thorough look at why this is the case, surely it can't just be a coincidence year after year.

We have the same trainers, same physio's, same performance coaches…of course we are going to get the same number of injuries year after year....look at Melbourne....they hardly have any major injuries (slater last year being the exception)...

It seems we've done 50+% more defense than most teams these past few years so more injuries are to be expected I would imagine. The rapid road to burnout fitness plan…

The clowns at the top of the pyramid, thats who! I'm a fan of Lawrence, but we need to make a call. Maybe drop him and see how it goes for two weeks, if it works great, if it doesn't, bring him back but put him on notice. Come on buddy, get it together. Lets go Potter, yo got too make a tough call.

Three years

every time i see you post that all I think of is that is how long we are going to be playing Lawrence 300K to gift oppositions 8 points a game… **Who gives a bloke with a shocking injury a contract that long anyway. Idiots.**

His contract was signed a week before his injury, so unless they had a crystal ball than your point is a little off the mark

There's obviously an issue within the strength and conditioning department. Would have thought there would be an inkling amongst the club when this has been happening for years now. Maybe they don't deem it as important as I view it.

i have said all along that we seem to have the worst recovery rate of any club going , our players allways seem to be out the longest even with the smallest injury. maybe we need a new medical team and a new fitness approach.
