The official line was that we needed a replacement for Joel Luani. I think Ballin is mostly paid for on Manly's cap, since it makes very little difference to them where he plays NSW cup in 2016.

Many people had the same opinion as you did.It was laughable that we signed an old hooker who tore his acl but that was what the coach wanted.Hardly a good signing and i dont care how much manly is paying.

Again he had complications and was supposed to be back far earlier (Rd 3 from all initial reports)

I disagree we should have played harder ball with Manly and got Liam Knight for releasing Tapau.

There were clearly some dodgy backroom dealing re: Taupau. Some sort of deal with Ballin and salary cap relief me thinks.
