Rankin at fullback?

Whilst that is probably the logical one, Rankin is so slow, even last night when he chimed in the defence were already there waiting, maybe his lack of pace can be compensated on the wing with JAC coming in on the left wing.

Might go better at fullback than on the wing, well it should either be him or Nofo, with JAC coming in.

Well that's a downer….Gutsy effort from Teddy did it in the 9th minute stayed the entire 1st half just hope leaving him out there didn't aggravate it further....

Very disappointing to read that news on Teddy.

Rankin will play full back and I would push Simonia out to the wing and play MCK in the centres

Im pretty sure that Taylor has already said earlier in the year that the only reason he is playing Rankin on the wing is so when Teddy is out for Rep games, Rankin will just slip back….already knowing the team play and style etc. So I expect Rankin at the back. Some have poo-pooed Rankin on the wing, but maybe it turns out to be a master stroke?

Im pretty sure that Taylor has already said earlier in the year that the only reason he is playing Rankin on the wing is so when Teddy is out for Rep games, Rankin will just slip back….already knowing the team play and style etc. So I expect Rankin at the back. Some have poo-pooed Rankin on the wing, but maybe it turns out to be a master stroke?

Yeah Taylor was asked about it on triple M last night and he straight up said Rankin was on the wing cos that's what you do with your spare fullback. He pointed out QLD Origin have been doing the same for years.

Given that Rankin's been in the side for 9 games as a backup for Tedesco, it seems unlikely he'd move anywhere but fullback against the dogs. JAC looks pumped to go, so no concerns finding another winger.

No need to reinvent the wheel for one injury. If we can bolt our forward pack back together, that backline will put enough points on the dogs. Then we've just gotta defend well enough.

I would move Moses to fullback,Rankin to 5/8, JAC on the wing and MCK on the bench to cover the backline. Sounds like a major reshuffle but Moses is a gun fullback and Teddy is the only reason he is not there.

Tiger Torch has also mentioned Rankin would play fullback if Teddy was selected in rep sides. As it now stands he'll be filling in while he recuperates. Addo-Carr onto the wing is the logical choice. Good news is that puts him outside Simona so there's plenty of speed and footwork on our left edge. If Brooks can continue to improve then our left edge will look very dangerous.

Newcastle play 5 newbies every week - their 30th player this round.

Hopefully they can sort it so JAC can prove himself and we can manage to not lose him to the Storm.

Teddy wasn't a massive factor in the win last night so we can still have a dig without him.

As others have said, Rankin can hold his own at the back.

So you play a guy out of position for 19-20 games so he can possibly cover for another player for 2-3 games assuming he got picked. That was JT's plan?

Depends if he's (JAC) in the top 25 or not. If not, his wage for that one game would come out of the 2nd tier, and if he plays a few more his wage will be upgraded to the FG minimum.
I would imagine Hunt is in the top 25.
