You think he’s gonna come out and say they’re done and that his team isn’t good enough? That’s the last thing you do as a coach. Deep down he knows the squad isn’t good enough and that’s why he’s trying to boot the rubbish and sign better players

I'd prefer him to be honest, maybe the players might try to prove him wrong.

I would have walked into the sheds shook everyone's hand and thanked them for the season just to see their reaction.

It’s a good way to lose the dressing room and get the sack. I never really take much from what coaches say to the media as they just rattle off the same stuff every well, behind closed doors is the real stuff

The players always say Madge is very honest and tells that what they need to work on so I’m sure he isn’t shying away from telling them anything

Not only does he miss tackles but other players overcompensate to try help him and leave gaps. He can’t be in the team next week

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago something is cooking in Tiger town , this group of players are not playing for the coach . One month ago this same group
of players were a competitive unit with the top teams .. not winning but competitive! Fast forward to last night and last week well the wheels are off .. so there is something cooking !

Yes of course his to blame for poor defence and no attack,and for all the clubs other woes over the last 20 years

The best we looked last night was when we threw the ball around

I have said it before,when JRey is in the halves with Brooks the team looks far better,the centres get ball and we become a go forward team...
The old adage when I was playing.give the ball some air and let your speedy players run onto the ball with good momentum...but thats just me...

Trouble is we DON'T have speed in our team and it was sadly proven again last night

Benji was never a good defender but he has plumeted to new depths in defence in 2019/2020.I dont want to see him in first grade again and i couldnt give a rats how cheap he is.

I'm with you Josh.
He still has the duty of upholding a positive public image for the organisation and with the number of constraints he and we(as a club) have, doing this type of thing serves poorly for both.

I get the feeling the players know who’s on the outer. If they don’t wanna try then we don’t want them. The captain in the cricket team is often the one scoring all the runs. We had 5 captains under Ivy, now just 2 under Madge.

For sure! The players know who has their back when the going gets tough

With a couple of exceptions. Maguire has been stuck with the squad Cleary left behind, several of whom, as we all know, he had to pay overs to get from a very limited array of available talent. This season was done from the moment the draw was recast and stacked against us, whether intentionally or otherwise. I hope Madge sticks around as I'd like to see how we go with a roster largely put together by him. Started following the Magpies in 1963 and with Wests Tigers since 2000 and have seen far far worse performances than last night's. Better times ahead I believe.

He knew we weren't a premiership threat before rd 1. It's not best to tell the truth if it will demotivate players and fans.

Nothin’ wrong with trying some unconditional love and Pygmalion effect on the players from day one. Especially after what they’d been through.
