Is our team broken

Look no futher than the Leadership group Woods..going Tedesco..going Moses…gone Ballin...busted Lawrence...Clubman Taylor..busting his arse....

All you every hear is how tight the 'boys' are ...we have a great bunch here yada yada yada...see above...

Cleary has mission impossible to try and get anything out of this season now upart from giving the fringe guys a go to see if they are worthy of a contract..started last night...

Reading some of this I feel like I watched a different game to some here. I thought Tedesco put in plenty of effort. The team's collective defence was appalling. It's too easy to focus on the shortcomings of two players who are leaving. From what I saw last nigh half the team needs to get the boot. At least Taylor, Nofo and Naiqama are getting in and having a go. They don't deserve the criticism they are getting from some here.

Ha ha, so many different interpretations here! Mr Magpie asks a good question. In terms of being able to put the most talented team available on the field we are a bit busted because Brooks, Lawrence, Taylor, Alouai and Woods are all now nursing injuries.
If we talk about unity and team spirit then we are probably a little busted there too. Moses, Woods and Tedesco have probably all cheesed off their team mates to different degrees because of their attitude and comments during the contractual saga. If you analyze the performance last night, I don't think effort and attitude were the problem. We were simply outclassed. Higher skill levels, greater cohesion, smarter decisions and a better rub of the green all contributed to a heavy loss for an inferior side like ours. However, having said this, maybe there is a an element of not wanting to support Tedesco and Woods when they take the ball up.. I didn't notice it at the time, but reflecting back, maybe they were left and high and dry. Teddy has become somewhat of a ball hog, so it's hard to say…..
The bottom line is that Cleary is really going to earn his money between now and the end of the season.

Our team has too many plodders in it, thats for sure. We probably have 3-4 quality 1st graders…..the rest would be fringe players at most other clubs....and its been like that for years. We have put our faith in 4-5 blokes in our team but lets be honest, they are or were young, inexperienced and have won nothing. They have never experienced success so how can any form of a WINNING CULTURE exist at the WT.

Allowing players like Taupau, Adam Blair and anyone else who had a bit of mongrel about them to leave was also the wrong call. Our forward pack has been soft for years......and shows up badly when we play big sides like Canberra & Penrith.

Cleary's cleanout and bringing in more mature proven 1st graders will make our squad much much more formidable.

Our club has been broken for years...everyone from ADMIN down, the coach and coaching staff...all have had a share of responsibility......but now its time to clean the dead wood out of the club in the playing ranks.

Keep whats good and get rid of the rest. We shouldn't mourn Woods, MM & Teddy leaving....their hearts were not at the Tigers so they are useless to us.

The last couple of weeks hasn't looked at all like a united team.

It's looked like an unhappy, disjointed mob lacking confidence in themselves and each other.

Hopefully the camp will get them playing for each other, and the two who are leaving won't be there which should help.

I blame the 3 traitors. They have honestly ruined this season. Moses going is good. Woods is just an ordinary player and the sooner he goes the better. Tedesco could be great and we could use him as our gun player in a quality overall team but he has been pretty bad this season. Tedesco is probably going to be massively overpaid next year as well.

Our team is a reflection of years of poor management. We have systematically weakened it to manage poor financial decisions and in doing so have not been able to remain competitive with stronger clubs.
We consistently blame individuals and point the finger at players and coaches for shortcomings, instead of accepting that the issues have all been with the management of the club. They are responsible for putting together the squad that represents us each year.
Woods and Teddy leaving to play finals footy - the reason they stated all along - has caused fans to be filthy at them. But it is a valid reason. This year we won't play finals again but Sirro and Marty might, Jac will, Adam Blair will, Blake Austin probably, and the two clubs they are going to are known for particpating in finals footy consistently because they are well run organisations.
Last year those in charge oversaw some very poor decisions that reflected badly on the club and then sacked the coach three weeks into the competition.
Appointing Cleary looks like a good decision for rebuilding the club but it should have been done at the end of last year instead of the club insisting that JT had the full support of the board when clearly he didnt, the result destabilizing the team, again and not ideal when you are trying to tie up contracts with two key players.

Things had/ have to change at top level for us to achieve success and sacking or appointing individuals and pinning our hopes on that, was never going to resolve the position we find ourselves in.
Cleary has a massive task for his part in our club going forward but our key to success and or failure still lies with those who are running the club.

To answer the OP, yes, yes we are. I'm looking forward to a few more signings and a strong pre-season for next year.

JT will likely coach in the finals

The one thing we have to do better is to stay out of the media pre season…by the looks of things we will be starting from scratch. But this could be a blessing in disguise as it will be a new era I'm hoping, maybe we need a new tigers logo also.

"This was our best preseason ever" and yet we were clearly unfit for the first 6 weeks of the comp… Whoever is in charge of S&C (other than the head coach) needs to be held accountable for our poor fitness to start the year...

The most frustrating thing about our team is the basics we get wrong time and again , we are weaklings in defence and we drop way too much ball to defend , in a nutshell we are inferior and way behind forst grade standard . In saying that we can only improve.

This makes a lot of sense, the first paragraph in particular is spot on! You have to look at the big picture and the extenuating circumstances behind it all to see where we've gone wrong and like you said the team has been systematically weakened, over a period of time, for quite a while now. You can't just view the problem from what we are seeing being produced on the field at present, it won't make sense and is only cause for speculation and misplaced blame.
