Is Potter really capable of making the big calls?

I just saw woods on fox sports comment on Tede$co. While supporting his mate u could tell he was disappointed with Tede$co decision. also news said **Tede$co scared of fan backlash at a home game**. Don't blame his. Haha. Also siro is looking HUGE.

and so he should be….he deserves to cop it big time at our next home game.

tigers v Canberra at cambelltown?

Im yet to see this "direction" from Anasta that peeps keep going on about.

His defense is pretty good, but in hand its awful floaty passing and a kicking game that is just awful.

Austin comes on and we look dangerous immediately.

Its as clear as the nose on yer face.

I agree Anasta is hurting us. I doubt potter would keep him there. If payten kidwell. And senior players were pushing for him to be dropped. So is it just had coach that supports him ??
There is more to him keeping his spot then just onfield performance

I'm not standing up for him. As I think he offers very little in attack.

But his line speed and talking in defence has been mentioned a few times, has a good chase on any kicks put in.

They are the little things that are under rated in a team, but have a big input in starting your sets.

Agreed, they are important things…but the bloke plays six and its his job to create space for our whole edge and its just not happening.

Not even close.

If he was playing lock fair enough but u need more from ur 6.....even his kicking game is crap...the amount of times we have had a great set, got into the opponents 20 and then just kicked it dead or straight to a player in goal....just kills the momentum.

His cons far out way his pro's,so it should be an easy choice, see ya Braith you have been given a long enough go to prove your worth.

Can anyone remember any team or coach saying geez those tigers are dangerous because anasta is a good talker.

whatever anyone says anasta offers in the talking ranks, is far outweighed by what he does not offer in the position he is in and of the failed attempts at trying to offer what a 6 should offer.

give him some other position, but not the six pleeeaase

Nobody is yet to convince me Anasta is our best option at n06 or anywhere else in the team and I agree with Eddie that a hard call is required and that is not going to happen.

The point is why????It has me beat and it seems to happen at every club.Look at Campese at the raiders, he should have been sent to pasture years ago, but he gets picked every week. Every club has a example, it just seems that coaches are very reluctant to tell senior players its the end of the line. Maybe its a loyalty thing, maybe they think talents of yesterday are going to come flooding back to them, who knows but one thing for certain is, I get sick of the "he adds experience to the team"

Wayne Bennett once said one of the hardest things in coach in recent times, is convincing players that their time is over and maybe it is time to retire, and Anasta is a perfect example of a player who has gone on at least two years to many, but the funny thing is, if we did not offer him a juicy contract another club would have, hoping he could add direction and experience to their club.

I get the feeling like many others, while fit to be selected, Braiths name will be read out every Tuesday afternoon till the end of the season. From where I sit its just plain dumb, but the coach lives and dies by results so he must know something I dont and maybe one day he might tell us really why he gets picked every week.

Have patience it will change in time, I won't criticise the Coach at this juncture as where the Tigers are placed on the ladder and with the whole injury thing the coach is making the right calls at the moment . Things are being put in place look at the Premier league side the puzzle is taking shape …keep the faith the second half of the comp is going to be a good ride if the injury gods are with them.

Snake, Iam afraid I do not share your confidence at present. Yes, I do think Potter has done a good job to have a sitting mid table considering our injuries but I also see the team at the cross road of the season and at present we are stuck in the mud. We have no attack, our only trys come from kicks, intercepts or loose balls. Our play is so predicable and one dimensional and hence we are so easy to defend. Potter has set good defensive structures now is the time to unleash some attacking players. Now if Anasta actually was the player who pushed the buttons, calmed things down when needed and revved things up when needed i would be happy, but he is a handbrake at present with plenty of errors in his kit bag, at least Benji pulled a rabbit out of the hat once in a while

I think potter is a puppet and someone is pulling his stings. He refuses to drop Anasta and how Sirro gets picked ahead of Akauola on form is beyond me. Now before all of u jump down my throat about Sirro , yes he's a good player but he shown nothing in the 2 return games, he needs another 2-3 weeks in the NSW cup to get fit and his game together.

I reckon Moses is the best option and I'm not sold on Austin however I have no idea what Anasta offers the club apart from being a decent defender.

I'm not here to bag Anasta but I know for a fact the boys at the club enjoy learning from him and love having him around, that being said the better option is Austin at 6, he always looks dangerous when running the ball and makes a good utility as well.

Moses is a good 12 months away from showing the form that we see from Brooks now, Potter did say Moses will get a cameo role later in the year but if the team is flying he would be getting the gig next year once Anasta goes.

Of course Potter will make the right call when he sees fit. With all the injuries and different combinations i think he is loathe to make another change. Once the team settles down and we are through origin, Austin will start at 6 with Anasta moving to bench.

I must have been watching a difrent Siro to you…his first touch he scored a try,has had plenty of LB assists, set upa try with a deft kick...

Has looked pretty bloody worthy to me and a cut above NSW Cup...same for Moses and Koro.

As much as it baffles us and we want him out of the side its obvious as long as he's fit he'll be picked. Potter must think Austin isn't ready yet, as much as I like Austin I tend to lean the same way, I think the deciding factor is potter not wanting to have two inexperienced halves.

This is central for me as well.

Brooks is still so young and having another inexperienced half would add a lot of pressure.

We need to trust that Moses will improve in U20s and then get some game time when SOO is done and/or making the top 8 is determined. Next year is when we should see a Moses - Brooks halves combo for a full game, not now.

Have to play with what we have.

I understand the pressure thing….and agree.

But how is Anasta taking pressure off Brooks...

IMO he is adding to it with dumb plays.....bad kicking options and passes that put no one in any kind of space.

Im all for experience if it actually helps.

PS....i just wanna add that i think Braith is giving his all and really tries hard .

Im beginning to think that someone is afraid Austin will make it difficult for Moses to play this year.

There is nothing that Anasta brings, that Austin doesn't cover and more.

There is no direction when Anasta is on the field. The only time there is, is when Farah is on the field. That's Farah, not Anasta. Fifth tackle options are dismal. There is pressure on Brooks with Anasta there.

They look like headless chooks at times .Anasta is bringing zip that Austin wouldn't cover. His experience is not showing dividends on the field.

Potter is willing to sacrifice our for and against. That's his call, but I don't like it, because it may come down to that in the end.
