Is the Coaching Situation a problem with our 3 guys off contract??

I think your thread is spot on. The players are smart enough to say the right things to the media about JT. However we dont really know behind closed doors what they really think. Taylor is a polarising coach like no other weve had. Pascoe will know what the players think of JT. If they dont have belief in him, then i think his time has to come to an end. If they are really buying into what he is doing and see him as their long term mentor then lock him up.

The fact moses and brooks only took a one year extension says to me they want to know who is long term coach. The fact that Pascoe and Oneil have been very quiet on the farah situation also tells me things are not as rosey as we are led to believe.

Fair post and well argued.

It's tough for any of us to know what's going on through the players minds, maybe they want Taylor to stay on, maybe they want him gone. Regardless the timing ain't great. Too early for the club to make the call on Taylor, but I'm sure the players would like to know who they will be coached by. I suppose that what Pascoe gets paid the big dollars for, to work it out and get the right result for the Tigers.

He signed with Canberra…

Don't remember him playing a game with them.

Keep digging…

He was clearly affected by something because he signed with them

Until the evil monster that is ....

His father?

Not quite. Have another guess GNR.

Until someone returned back from origin duty and…..

 Will hurt you to much to give him a bit of credit i know In teddy still being here

John Tedesco among others was the most influential figure in getting Tedesco to stay…The lure of massive overs at the time was what made him sign...

Oh that guy.

And what did he say this time around….

"He's off contract next year and I have no doubt there will be 15 other clubs trying to sign him and rightfully so," Farah said. "They've got a battle to keep him. It's going to be a big call for him about what he wants to do and I probably won't be there. So I'll stay out of it this time. I've done my work – it's up to someone else."

But he loves the club

On Tuesday, Tigers assistant coach Todd Payten called Farah aside, the pair aware Tedesco was shattered and confused at leaving Concord.

Farah then approached Tedesco after training with the pair heading to Prato. There they spoke for an hour, Tedesco visibly upset at the thought of leaving at season’s end.

The next day, Tedesco travelled to Farah’s inner-west home where the conversation deepened.

Farah then approached Tigers CEO Grant Mayer to ensure the club’s original $450,000 a year contract was still available. It was.

“As club captain I came back from Origin and there’s no doubt the boy was really down, it was noticeable,” Farah said.

“Toddy Payten had a word to me on Tuesday morning and said ‘Teddy’ (Tedesco) hasn’t been the same. I didn’t want to make a big deal out it but we trained on Tuesday and you could see it out there.

“I grabbed him afterwards and said ‘let’s go for a coffee’. We had a good long chat about everything and where his head was at.

“He got pretty emotional. I told him he had to go home and have a serious think about it, spend some time on his own and with family.

“He was worried about the backlash and what people were going to think. At the end of day I just said he had to make a decision that makes James Tedesco happy, not Robbie Farah or anyone else. I told him if he was serious about this we should chat tomorrow.”

And they did. Early on Wednesday Tedesco texted Farah.

He texted the next day and said his heart was here and he wanted to make it happen,” Farah said. “He came over to my place and spoke about things. It was obvious he was nervous, as was I. ‘Sticky’ (Raiders coach Ricky Stuart) is a really close friend of mine. It’s hard. I was caught between a rock a hard place.

“In the end I told him whatever his decision I will support him and if it means I take the brunt of it, so be it. I didn’t put any pressure on him — it was just a chat. He got pretty emotional.”

Asked was Tedesco in tears, Farah said: “It’s fair to say that.”

Farah then approached Mayer and asked was the offer still on the table.

“He said, of course it is,” Farah said. “Once Teddy knew that and that he was still wanted here, it was just a matter of working through it.”

Asked whether he was worried about damaging his friendship with Stuart, Farah said: “Of course. No doubt Sticky will be filthy and upset. But it’s not about me, it’s not about Stick, it’s about him (Tedesco). We were all disappointed when he was going but for him to have a think about it, realise that this is the place he wants to be, is a massive boost for our club.”

He did once love the club, but yeh not so sure now.

I' don't believe he deserved what the club did to him, who knows how you react when the place thats been half your life rejects you? In my opinion there are no winners here really. A club great thats tarnished his legacy, and a club that lies to its supporters about the reason he is no longer in First grade.

just sad how this has played out

Agree.

i dont know why you keep biting back to some of these clowns Eddie.
reading their posts, thread after thread…its like old drunk men spilling beer on themselves in the pub and chuckling and patting themselves on the back....... its gotten laughable !

anyone with half a brain will step outside the crap going on and realise this is not only a business, this is their lives and the choices they make moving forward are extremely important !
not just for the money, but for everything they have dreamt about in being a first grade footballer.... a premiership, belonging an being part of a successful club and their own development and legacies !

whether people agree or disagree - who the coach is matters !
they are very young and at the starting points of their careers ! long term deals mean they will probably be at the club longer than the current coach so yeah im sure thats a significant concern as is ideas on the team, ideas on recruitment ideas on how the club plans to keep building and get away from the amateur display it has put forward for the last XXXXX years !

moses and brooks signed 1 year extensions for a reason.
teddy wants the 3 of them to stay together
The club wants them to stay
only fools will have other fools believe the coach is a non issue !

Not only do we have big names off contract internally, but half the NRL will be off contract as well. The market for 2018 opens in November, and if we want to progress we'll need to make some moves.
Both our guys and those we're chasing will have the likes of Politis, Hasler and whoever else on the phone selling their club's project - what's our pitch?
It's a hugely important time for the club.

Compared to Barrett talking about how they will do everything in their power to get Jamie Lyon on the field at Brookie to give him the farewell he deserves for service to the club - the silence from our club is embarrassing.
It's not about the supporters who are not fans of Farah - keep away if you do
nt like him - this is about the fans that want to acknowledge him and there are plenty of them.
The club and coach will be doing themselves a huge disservice if they don't provide opportunity for the fans to farewell Farah- provided he actually is going.
And as for Lyon like Farah he too has been coached by three coaches - not so unusual for long serving players.

I guess bobo the proof will be in the pudding.

If they re-sign under Taylor and we are winning games well all power to JT.

I admit i do have doubts though. I thought the question was a fair one.

For mine it would be disgraceful if he did not get a farewell (provided he is leaving)
