Is the Robbie distraction a positive or a negative for Sunday

Might end up backing out in the warm up and this could all be a bluff, you never know.

It really would not matter what Farah did there are going to be people taking pot shots at him and from where I sit I just can not see why anyone would bag one of the most influential players in our short history. Anyway I guess Robbie will be a easy place to lay blame if we bomb out.

People should be in awe of this guys determination just to get himself in a position to possibly play. Is it a good thing for our preparation, 100% yes. It gives all the other players person to follow and it distracts the media focus away from the rest of the playing group

Is quite unbelievable really and to see him running after 25 days... Something special.... It will inspire his team mates

It may inspire his teammates but I hope to God he doesn’t end up playing.

Just because he can run around at training doesn’t mean he will be able to withstand the rigours of an NRL match. He will be a sitting duck for the Cronulla pack imo and if he goes down early on we will be down a player for the rest of game and he may end up with an even worse injury in the long term.

We need the fittest 17 out there and the same combinations that have produced the winning performances of the past two weeks. This is the game of our lives, why on earth would we want to tamper with the team if it’s not really necessary?

As far as the media distraction around Robbie goes, I do believe it’s a positive for the same reason many others have already pointed out - it keeps the focus almost solely on him and off the rest of the team. It also stops the press trotting out stories, ad nauseum, about how long It has been since the West’s Tigers played finals football, which would no doubt end up guaranteeing our drought would continue!

He won't play... I wasnt inferring he could play

I know you weren’t Ink, I was just expressing my fear that they might play him and how silly it would be imo. I sure hope you are right though and he won’t end up playing, but I know how persuasive he can be sometimes. Hopefully he will come to realise before Sunday that despite his determination to play, a lame dummy half wouldn’t really benefit the team.

I just saw on 9 news they're saying he requested I think 30 tickets for friends and family.... Now I'm getting concerned... Hopefully its 9 BS.

Story after with fafita saying there's no mates on the field (opposition)
Any team would target the leg if its fragility is that well known

Thought there were no tickets left?

General public

Who are we bluffing? The Sharks are probably liking the idea of playing a guy with a bung leg.

No media at their training either. Ther
build up is working in their favour...

Robbie got a billion tix the last time he had a send-off, the infamous "sitting on scoreboard" day, and didn't play, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything? I know because he sat near me with his family.

He'll be sent off regardless of whether or not he plays, also whether or not we win or lose? Still his/our last LO match 2019.

Well this is something that’s not being mentioned. Sunday is s big day for him whether he plays or not. No doubt he gets another lap of honour at half time if he’s not playing. Naturally he’d want his family there.

I wonder how all the press around Robbie's will he or won't he play is affecting our players particularly the younger guys

I think you can look at it two ways , the focus is solely on Robbie and not on the side

The other side is the pressure that many of our younger less experienced guys are dealing with the focus

I even wonder whether Robbie is actually no chance of playing , but trying to take the focus off our boys

Thoughts ??

I think all the team knows already just keep rookie coach John Morris in the dark

I do t think its that much of a distraction. Robbie is an aging star that we need to learn ro play without him.

Attitude and effort will win us the game on Sunday.

It's in the team's hands.

Bit of trivia, to which I don't actually know the answer, but how many players in Australian rugby league history have had two send-offs at the same ground, several years apart?

Is Robbie the first?

I suppose any player that retired then made a comeback. Lamb, Skando.

Obviously, he wasn’t retiring last time. Didn’t seem to help much either way because he was never a chance of playing in that fixture. I hope he is a genuine chance but narrowly misses out late on and J. Rey comes on earlier in his first big match chance since signing here which I think is where you’ll see all our best attributes from the past few weeks.

Robbie couldn’t possibly add to that cohesion even if he wanted to play a very free flowing brand of footy, not withstanding the condition of his leg.

If the head games continue just so long as all of us fans and even maybe those family/friends closest to the club think he’s a genuine chance to line up close to kick-off then it’s going to fire the boys up and cause the Sharks to change strategy completely...

Josh doesn’t run unless there is genuine space out of acting half, whereas it is one of R.F’s biggest strengths and something that may have been to his detriment over recent seasons as he’s slowed down a bit. Cannot wait to see the fans get stuck right into Woodsy...
he’ll know what it is after this Sunday that’s for sure!

Garry Jack? Maybe Ray Cashmere!

Just curious if they ever got a second official send-off.
