Is this our worst loss in the past decade?

For me the worst game that hurt me was playing a broken Robbie against the Sharks to get into the finals..

Has the Taylorball match against Cowboys fallen so far into memory that it's no longer the worst result? Or the two home matches against Sharks and Raiders to qualify for the finals, where we got belted both times?

Today's match stank and it sucks hard to lose at this time, to a team as bad as the Bulldogs, but there was nothing riding on the match and evidently some of the boys had clocked off for the season already.

This is as close to accurate as you will get. There are so many scales you can measure it on, just like when you ask who our worst ever signing is. There are lots of variables. Yesterday was bad, but it won’t go down in the annals the same way last round games against the Raiders and Sharks did. Is it even our worst loss of the year? The Cowboys loss was pretty ordinary, as was the loss against the Storm.

IMO the worst loss 2021 was the Cowboys - everything to play for, not just results but respect and club heart and legendary players; started badly... then almost won it anyway, as if to show that if they clocked on at the start they would have been the dominant side.

Most crucial loss was the Warriors 18-16. A win there would have made it 4 wins from 5 after the bye, 1 loss to Manly, and shaping up for finals with a run-home of Sharks, Panthers, Dogs.

I think some of these final-round matches are "give up" matches. We have won our share of no-consequence final round matches as well.

Most painful losses for me were actually Souths first time, Storm and Sharks. Souths because we deserved to win. Storm because they toyed with us, it wasn't just embarrassing lack of effort, it was the shameful lack of ability to compete, and we weren't so injury-hit then. Sharks match because that was the final tipping point of the year and we didn't even come close to competing after a first 10 or 15 minute salvo.

Yep the worst loss for me was the round 5 clash against the Cowboy at Leichhardt. Should have been a tribute to Tommy, instead the team got booed off the ground for that dismal display. This team has no heart.

That game was the beginning of the end.
And where the club lost its fans.
It's a long way back - and even worse, no one in the place accepts the truth.

Nah losing to Newcastle those few years ago when we were the only team they beat to get off 0 wins is worse for mine..

Atm I'm embarrassed to be a Wests Tigers supporter...but I'll be renewing my out of town membership for 2022.

Hang in there, old buggers like you and i may not see the best from our club but it will come eventually.

G'day @jadtiger I just hope you and I dont have to wait as long for our next grand final win as since our last and only win.
If so I will have long been eaten by the fishes with only 1 grand final in 63 years of following the Magpies and Wests Tigers.

2015 at Ctown. It was 2-0 for nearly 60 minutes and we had no attack. At one point Taupau got sick of it and did a chip and chase. Was the highlight of the night.

If I'm not mistaken, Cowboys score the last try off some dodgy kick? A bomb? I have memories of Kane Linnett being involved.

No he was playing for the Knights by then.

I looked it up just now - Antonio Winterstein is the one who scored, but I could swear Kane Linnett was involved in a kick reception leading to the try.

Our worst loss ever... it may not even be the worse loss of the last 2 months.

Two worse losses this year alone: LO Tommy game and CSS Tommy game.

I just recall a guy kicking the ball and the ref saying not played at, I thought it was Simms, maybe Ashton Simms, there have been so many heartbreaking losses, they all meld in to one, must have been another loss I was thinking of

I don't doubt there have been worse performances but the empty feeling I got at this game I haven't felt before. At least with Taylorball, there was a plan.. this was just players had given up even before coming on the field.

I remember an SCG game a couple of years ago and Latrell Mitchell Absolutely killed us. I remember having this feeling then.

I missed the Storm game this year but may have felt similar then.
